Beautiful use of light and composition. Immediately the impact and dynamic of the bright sunlight appears very engaging; I feel like its strong warmth paired with the drab grey brings it out a lot more with those conflicting colours but cohesive atmospheres. They both set the core foundation along with the low composition of the sun to really convey that sunset-like atmosphere of calm and relaxation.
In addition to this, the fact that orange and grey are essentially the only two major colours in the image yet contrast with each other so much heightens the effect of the light even more, making it a lot more dynamic as opposed to having a more gradual colour transition.

The effect of this contrast and sharpness between the two colours in terms of the way they strike the objects is very nice; from the scene to the figures to the cars to the buildings, the edges of light are very distinct and stand out strongly against the grey.
I feel like this sharp lighting works really well with the theme of the image; the city's rigid, tightly-controlled, almost mechanical atmosphere is portrayed very nicely with the geometric, straight and very regular light effects.

Adding on to the effect of the sharpness of the light, the way the light directly strikes each object is also very beautiful, conveying a similar feeling as felt in a person looking into the peaceful sunset on a beach or something, bathing in that warmth and really enjoying the mood.
Combined with the very nice use of colour and contrast, it's as if the city itself is relaxing in the lovely atmosphere.

However, I feel like the use of detail really heightens the atmosphere of the image, building up on the solid foundation set by the light, colour and contrast.

The huge cluster of intricacy and detail seen in the centre of the city appears very engaging; the shadow of the rubble along with the distant buildings fill up quite the space.
However, I actually feel like the atmosphere of the image set by the darkening effect of the light with its relaxing, sunset-like glow is reinforced with the lack of detail more so with the presence of it; it's as if the amount of cars and rubble decreases and everything becomes less detailed with slightly larger brush strokes as the city draws out nearer to the audience, the road also becoming bland and flat much like the quickly darkening light.
The way in which this portrays the city is very intriguing, and, again, heightens the atmosphere wonderfully; its like as the city thins out, so does its business and action, conveying that feeling of going home after a long day of stressful work.

The use of the backlight also reinforces this with the sense that the light is growing scarce, as does the drab colour of the slightly sombre but still calming grey.
Of course, the subject of the sun setting itself heavily implies that the city is indeed beginning to go home as the shadows draw longer.

In particular, the building on the immediate left and how it creates a very strong area of darkness works interestingly with the road; it's as if the road, as it distances, is heading towards that darkness, again implying that feeling of withdraw and return.

As much as the light highlights and gives a beautiful quality to the image of serenity and relaxation, I feel like the shadows and darkness equally convey a sleepy, tired and grey atmosphere, tying elements of something like a sunset on a beach to a heavily-populated urban area, which is stunningly engaging.

That's what I love about this artwork - it's not just a normal sunset-like scene with the light and colour; it also incorporates elements from the city, which you'd at first expect to be very conflicting with the atmosphere but actually works very well.
Again, simply beautiful use of light and a simplistic yet powerful colour scheme to really convey the lovely sunset atmosphere, as well as combining the perspective and detail to further reinforce the fading, relaxing nature of the image, the detail of the image itself seeming to calm down in the mood of it all.

Sorry about the disjointed nature of this comment, though I just want to really stress the unique combination of a seemingly natural scene and a very urban one. It's beautiful.

The business and hustle of the city begins to lax, headed for home after a tiring day, the sunlight bathing it in a calming warmth as it withdraws into its slumber.
Awesome work!
