I couldn't resist this one. It's just too apt.Sadly, this will be the last of my photos due tot he fact that I had three backups of them.
The first was on Sarah's laptop, which is now busted beyond repair.
The second was on 'my' computer here but this turned out to be a folder of an identical name, but empty.
The third was on the digital camera used to take the photos, but, as SCR leant of a balcony to take a picture of his girlfriend's sister urinating standing up. (Yeah, it was one of *those* parties) he fell over and smashed the camera to bits. (Big loss for him too, his girlfriend posing nude was also on there, and if you know anything about girls you'll know he won't ever see that again for some time.)
Such is life huh?

Ack. Gotta hate that backupdeath-hell. What are the chances of a dead laptop, an empty folder AND a smashed camera taking place before you realise what's going on? Well, according to Murphy's Law, 100%, but still...
I've lost countless interesting things over the years. Like my old 386's hard disk that had heaps of stuff from my childhood and crashed in 1997. And my second Pentium's 'All The Other Stuff' folder from 1998, which I for some reason stored on my Windows 98 desktop, carried across haphazardly between one too many reinstalls in a very short period of time.
Alas, I could have saved the first had I sat it in a cupboard for half a decade instead of letting one of my friends fdisk it. The second taught me to keep a multitude of backups and duplicates, no matter the cost in storage space.
Speaking of which, I should make a copy or two of my Photos and Projects folders.

Aye, but paper holds less memory and much more nonsense these days, if a business goes down, the staff camping trip pictures are lost, last weeks invoices are backed up.

Well, this one's a very PRETTY picture so not everything was lost...
And it's a big loss indeed (and did he fall over a balcony...? Poor chap) but your memories of the travel will live on, despite this.

He fell over a rail and onto some concrete, but the girlfriend's sister broke his fall.

Oh my God... it doesn't seem like anybody was hurt (RIGHT?!) but... POOR girl! At least the evidence was destroyed but still...
And don't worry! As you said before, you might save some of the pictures from total oblivion but if you can't, it's ok

I did, on digital camera, all on one fragile little disk, which is now broken into a million pieces.
I've most likely lost a great week's worth of memories.
