BUT IT IS A BIRD.

A seagull, actually, standing on the railing outside my favorite restaurant in Santa Cruz, California. When flew in from the magical land of Canada to visit me, we drove down there after a day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The restaurant is Riva's, located on the warf, which serves AMAZING seafood and equally amazing gelato with an amazing view of the coastline. If you are ever in the area, check them out!

Anyway, this bird was waitin' for some fries, man. He must have hung around outside our window for a good twenty minutes just waiting. By the time our food came, he had flown off ... so no fries for him.

I think seagulls aren't given enough credit for their cuteness. Some people find them annoying or ugly, but I don't. Just look at that face! Gaze into those deep eyes and tell me it doesn't make you smile just a little bit. It did, didn't it? No? What! Why I never ...

Anyway, I have a few other good shots of him which I might upload after this. But I just love how this one came out, and I hope you do too!

... Oh God, now I'm totally craving Riva's ... nnngggh.
