Description The reimagined version of Ironface from Scooby Doo.

For this version I decided to keep the pirate theme but give him more of a prisoner look. For his history, this Ironface was Mason Grim, son of infamous judge, Hebediah Grim. Tired of living under his strict rule, Mason turned to a life of crime and eventually became a pirate. Mason became an infamous pirate not only for his many acts of piracy but also for his disguise which included an iron mask which earned him the name Ironface. 10 years later his crew was killed, his ship destroyed, and himself taken prisoner by naval soldiers. He was brought to court and sentenced by his own father to life in prison. To add to his punishment he had a full headed helmet locked onto his head "in honor" of his pirate name. On Judge Grim's deathbed he commanded that his son also die when he drew his last breath. When Grim's life did end, Ironface was fitted with cuffs for his arms and legs and chained to giant weights and taken out to sea. Before he was cast out to his aquatic grave, he vowed to return. Today a mysterious spectral force went underwater and revived the once dead pirate and now he's back for revenge on anyone in his path.

Powers: Undead status, command over aquatic life, superhuman strength, invulnerability to harm.

Inspiration for this design came from Destro in G.I. Joe Renegades and Blackgate inmates from Batman Arkham Asylum.

The next monster coming up is the 10,000 Volt Ghost.

Did Ironface encounter and fight Redbeard when they were still alive or were they allies of sort?

Ironface and Redbeard were allies against the British Royal Navy who were out to kill every last pirate.

Great design fro Ole' Ironface. He looks like he came straight out of the Arkham games like you intended!

I know he's supposed to be a pirate but he looks more like a prisoner/asylum patient. Like he was a serial killer known for his violence and almost superhuman levels of strength. It was due to this that he was locked in solitary all the time and was chained to the walls and like any slasher villain he somehow survived his inhumane living conditions and is still alive despite being abandoned in his prison/asylum since the 1800s.

That design is part of his story. Ironface was executed dressed up this way, so that's why he looks this way. His father, being the judge who sentenced Iron Face, never wanted to look at his face again, so his threw an iron mask on him.

I believe you've got the ability to control aquatic life from when the original Ironface rode on sharks (Mechanical sharks).Β  I also bet the reason why Hebediah didn't sentence Mason to die was probably because deep down he loves his son.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zigwolf In reply to Drake-Ormr [2017-04-11 18:52:00 +0000 UTC]

That's the furthest from the truth. Hebediah was one of the strictest judges of his time and his biggest disappointment was his son becoming a pirate. He thought rotting in a cell was worse punishment than a swift death and that's why he letΒ Ironface be imprisoned tilΒ the judge'sΒ death where the pirate was also executed. Β

When I was reading the description, I was expecting that they would put a heated mask on Mason as punishment.

Zigwolf In reply to Drake-Ormr [2017-04-10 22:21:08 +0000 UTC]

That would be a good way to go. But I wanted Ironface to not only describe his look but also be his pirate name, like Blackbeard. It needs to come from him and not his punishment.

Yup. He can also manipulate mud, water, earth, project bright red energy from his eyes and hands, and in recent years asphalt, crude oil and rubber. He's haunted the Old Meadow since about 1696 and in life he had many foes that came and went but in his after life only 2 remain.
Β
The first is a man by the name of Chase O. Strange who had magical super powers and his ghost currently haunts a bog not far from Zebediah's meadow. The other enemy was a prankster/ con artist by the name of Jack Brown who became immortal at one point. Zebediah believes that Jack sold his soul to Satan to become immortal and believes that Jack is just a soulless human being at this point. I'll be making of one of his enemies really soon.Β

Also I like your icon and I think it looks so cool.Β

I think Chase.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

WoodLily In reply to Zigwolf [2016-02-19 07:12:08 +0000 UTC]

Then Chase it is! Chase by the way the bog that Chase haunts is called Ash Bog. In life he not only projected magical energy (like his brothers Anthony and George) he could also manipulate ash and soot. He lived in a big town with Judge Easterwood called Edgewood (which on longer exists). Chase was rather non conformists for his day. He lived underground, took a bath everyday, was a big neat freak, had no wife, no kids, no job and actually liked it that way. He was very lazy basically. He is still lazy in his afterlife but he is not as lazy as he was in life.Β

Because he haunts a bog he decided he wanted to control much more than ash, soot, and magical energy. Over the years he learned to manipulate mud, ice, plants, flowers, water, earth, blood, cold manipulation, cold air, cold weather, Winter and in recent years Chase learned to to manipulate toxic sludge. Chase even has the ability to create portals to places as far away as Uranus or even other dimensions but doing this will drain him. He is more powerful in death than and has a wider range of powers than Zebediah and Jack he was in life but his weakness is that if he uses his full power too much he will lose his energy and it will take him days or even weeks to recover from this. A second weakness he has is stress and at times it's so intense he cannot function.Β

What do you think so far?Β
