Thanks! of course, without your model the paint doesn't have these nice effect

JWArtwork In reply to Zimices [2012-10-20 18:03:30 +0000 UTC]

Haha, well, to be honest, I think my texture kinda sucks... It's not realistic and has all blobs and circles everywhere...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zimices In reply to JWArtwork [2012-10-20 19:39:13 +0000 UTC]

Anyway, the light allows that the animal have volume, then the appliaction of the paint is easy. By the way, how do you texture your animals?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JWArtwork In reply to Zimices [2012-10-20 20:04:19 +0000 UTC]

I use a standard brush-brush (I don't know how to call it else ) with opacity to click many times and every now and then I change the colour to make it look the way I want it to. It mainly works for scales, but for mammalian-skin... no. I don't know how other people colour and keep the original drawing preserved... [link] With my drawings it always fades away after too many clicks of texture...

Zimices In reply to JWArtwork [2012-10-20 20:10:01 +0000 UTC]

I really don't know how these works, although my guess is that maye they not only use the original drawing as a basis but that they use the drawing over the painted version...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JWArtwork In reply to Zimices [2012-10-20 21:03:10 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, yes... But then, how do you colour

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zimices In reply to JWArtwork [2012-10-20 21:06:27 +0000 UTC]

I made a simple color to delineate the main lines of the original drawing, then I fill with the colours that I need and later I paint the details using dark versions of the colors over the lines that I made first.
