This reminds me a mexican legend called 'La mulata de Cordoba' it's about a beautiful woman half african, half spanish; people acused her of witchcraft because she helped and saved many african slaves because she known natural medicine; she knew astrology, and many charms, people could see her in many places at the same time; when th court of inquisition knew that, they encarcerated her in San Juan de Ulúa, one day she could get a piece of coal and started to draw in the wall a little ship, the guard asked her what did it meant, she answered: ' I'm gonna cross the sea..' and she jumped to the wall and got in the ship and she scaped in the draw... I hope you can understand me, sorry for my bad english. Have a nice day dear!!
