A Steampunk apparatus. Function unknown.UPDATE: I found the manual for this. This device will take a picture of a subject and then, depending on how you set the controls, it will project a 3-D image of that subject - but in the future. As with all forecasting, problems may arise when interpreting the information. Based on an old episode of The Twilight Zone.

This is one of those things that you put out on a table with a notebook, and let people "guess" what it does, even if you don't know what it's supposed to do. Just to see what ideas people come up with.
