This was art from like, valentines day that ScreamingYearly decided to ask if we should collab, and I was like HECK YEAH, and then life kicked me in the teeth and put me out of drawing action for a hot minute unless it was time sensitive

But I'm bAck in the swing of things a big, and thus, here is the long awaited beans

This is set just after Pons and Malone have their first heart to heart after Eye for an Eye. Malone has served his duties out given to him by Shabeel, his scars and ribs have healed, and he's just going about life as best he can while trying to recover mentally from it.

It was when Pons mentioned he had finally made up with Mulligan after the events of the gathering, that Malone decided it was about time he talked to Mulligan. She needed to know her son wasn't all troublemaker, like he appeared to others.

She raised him, after all. So his behaviour and the way he handled things were partially because of his mother's good teachings.

After approaching Mulligan while she was holding her lunch, he imparts some cracked, but meaningful words towards the lioness. He didn't have the energy or the confidence to stay longer then it took to deliver his message. He'd not spoken to anybody in the last few months unless he needed to, and reintroducing himself into the social ladder was... hard. To say the least.

He was just glad she didn't seem to hate him for what had happened.

Mulligan, surprised by the sudden appearance of the leopard, barely had time to answer him at all before he'd faded into the crowd of cats also beginning to grab their supper from their stores for the day.

Frowning, she decided she wasn't about to let that odd, soft comment go unanswered - Now she just had to find the captain, and get a moment alone with him. Which seemed as impossible as climbing to the peak of the mountain in Winter.
