Description Cuteness Overdose

This is my second attempt with the Copic Markers. I really love working with this medium and I enjoy this early learning process so much. I've really missed that feeling - trying something completely new technique wise. That urge you have wanting to improve and to master it as fast as possible (=

Again, in the pink colour scheme since those are the ones I currently have available. I really look forward working with different colours soon.

Yesterday I bought 3 sets of different Promarkers. I hope they are great, but I have no idea. From what I read they are thinner than the Copic markers and smoother, so hopefully they will work for me. Do you have any experience with these? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

The drawing is loosely based on my friend from our recent photo shoot. The Bunny is based on the Luv Bunny's (Dead Cute Plush).

Thanks for looking and any advice and comments are of course welcome ♥

oh, sorry, Copic Markers. sure. x) I wish to have money to buy them. D: If I ever buy, I would have to buy Copic Ciao. But they seem to be uneasy to shade with. So I really dont know.
If you try your Promarkers, I am looking forward to read how it feels to work with

wow I am glad you started with markers, and I am sure your work with them will be amazing, it is already great.

One tip I have when working with markers is that you can also use color pencils for the tiny details or for soft touch, I discovered this lately and it helps a lot.

looking forward to see more of your work with markers

Hooray for learning new techniques!

I haven't used copics before so can't really compare. I've had promarkers for a while but I'm only recently rediscovering them.

The paper you use is very important and personally for me, it really makes or breaks your whole experience with the medium. As other people have stated, promarkers tend to bleed a lot and I couldn't find the right paper for a long time. Recently, I've been trying out 220gsm Canson premium drawing paper and it's brilliant! I use the smoother side of the paper. It seems to soak up the ink and I haven't had any problems with bleeding regardless of how many layers I've put on. Now I'm really having fun using my markers

I do find blending takes a bit of getting use to though...especially on paper that soaks up ink!

This is an example of what I've been able to achieve with promarkers & coloured pencils so far: [link]

How cute! I really love the colour scheme and how you handled the colouring on her clothing. You pick up marker skills quickly, it seems. n__n I also really like how you drew her hair, especially the roots.

As for the Promarkers, I have about 7 of them and the small nib is indeed thinner than Copic, so it's nice for details. I don't know if it's really smoother than Copic, but perhaps around the same level...so I'd say they are pretty similar. I'll have to think about it the next time I use markers, haha. The thing I like about Copic is that their Sketch line has a brush tip that's great for blending, but they can get pretty pricey. XD I'm looking forward to seeing your upcoming marker drawings!

OMG I LOVE THIS!!! so cute! i love working with markers as well... even though... when i try to there really is no contrast or anything, it looks more like i tore a picture out of coloring book and started coloring in the lines... XD hence the reason why i do not like adding color. takes away from the actual drawing. but you of course are amazing at everything so of corse you can make it work awesome work!

Great work, as always !!
Well, I do use promarkers to do some drawings (so the colors are very bright you know) and i'm very happy with it, i mean i love coloring with promarkers, but it's the only brand i know... anyway with promarkers you have to be very careful as the ink easily comes through the paper, however thick it may be... oh, and don't follow the outlines too closely, because it's kinda spreads throughout the paper it's a little tricky, sometimes. I hope this helps you but I'm sure you'll do very well since you're like, hugely talented.

Thanks so much
My main issue with working with markers is the black outline bleeding out and sometimes mixes with the colouring. It always seem to happen in the face where it's mostly noticeable. It's really annoying. Though I have bought both Letraset and Copic's outliner it still happens.

That's funny to see this, since just a few days ago I first saw these plushies on a profile at Suicide Girls. One of the gals there makes them. Her handle is Akito. Here is a link to see what they look like:

No, they are private photo shoots my model do for me. Most of them are changed up a lot, this one as well. I can show you the teddy though if that's what you are interested in.

It was just a funny coincidence. They are cute, in a morbid sort of way, but I like it that way. Ordinary plushies are boring.
