to put before
strange eyes
when we have not met
until now

is that question
any sillier
than this one
I have often dreamt
within my life
is the heart real?

be painted
upon face

any colour
would please

but does it carry
any kind of substance
somewhere inside
I only ask

I can see you
wondering
about the hope
that I want
to believe in
that the heart
can be real
