My fav zebra :'3when I first saw a mlp episode from the first generation, even when i didn't even like it, did I want to see a zebra in it.
Kinda funny how i not reacted on that there where not a single male character in it but so wanted to see a zebra.

It's true that we need more zebras in the show. So far we didn't even now where they were living. Until they tell where in the Journal of the Two Sisters. Yes, I like Zecora and so glad that they gave her the right accent.

not sure I want to see more zebras. It makes it more special to see zecora :3
but I would like to see more cultures.
I haven't read any comics from mlp becouse there are so many fan made comics, having
a hard time to see whats offical mlp and whats fan made.

The official comics are sold. The fans made don't. Copyrights forbidding them. There are more and more in the style of the official comic, though. But they are semi-canon since their personalities differ. Pretty apparent mostly to Luna's and Celestia's. I'm sure that there's a debate to which Luna, cartoon or comic, is the best.
In the Journal of the Two Sisters, Luna discovered and met the zebras in a region behind the Everfree Forest, protected from the manticores. BTW, Luna befriended a manticore who mentioned her about the region which, pushed by her curiosity she had to explore.
