I would like to point out that, although I'm extremely happy for the addition of Bayonetta in Smash, I would also like to express my condolences to all of us Shantae fans, for she has been deconfirmed. However, it does not mean that we will stop loving our Half-Genie hero in future games to come. Bayonetta ruined everything. Shante was way more deserving for Smash, along with Shovel Knight, Wonder Red, Rayman, Ezio and even King K. Rool.

Man, that really sucks. But, the main reason Bayonetta won the overall vote over Shantae was because she was more well-known overseas, especially in Europe, and she only had TWO GAMES, one of 'em being a Wii U exclusive! Shantae's got 3 games, BUT, she also had a rough start, first appearing just around the time the GameBoy Advance was being released to the public, and later reappearing on a DsiWare title; she's just starting, I repeat, STARTING to be more familiar overseas. Hatsune Miku rhythm games took a while to reach the Western Region, which is North America, so I would believe it would take a while before more and more people overseas become more familiar with our titular Half-Genie Hero. You can't just wish for something and expect it to be handed to ya just like that; it doesn't work that way. Things like this take time to progress even further.

Brits and Europe...hadn't thought of that before, but it does make sense.
I don't mind Bayonetta too much in Smash, but Nintendo should have added Shantae as well, being the fact that she was top-voted in North America.
Why they didn't, I don't know, BUT THEY BETTER ADD HER TO SMASH FOR NINTENDO SWITCH, OR ELSE THERE'S GOING TO BE SOME SERIOUS PROBLEMS FROM THEIR FANS!

Gamers these days only care about sexy women, violenceΒ and explosions. And most game companies do just that.
Indie game companies on the other hand create the type of games WE DO WANT! They don't over flow they're games with sex appeal and whatnot, they actually have character, development, story and enjoyment. In fact,Β indie gameΒ are WAY more video gamey than the other kind of games.Β Companies like Konami, Capcom and the evil that is PlatinumGames Inc. only care about money.

There are a lot more gamers out there that have more variety to the kinds of games they want to play, be it action/adventure, racing, or even first-person shooters.
I can't really blame these companies too much on the money factor (even in this economy to say the least), especially Capcom, who has been STRUGGLING with their money situation over the last several years.

Then why is Capcom only focusing on Street Fighter while ignoring others like Ghosts 'n Goblins and Mega Man? I'll tell you why... 'cause they don't care about they're fans. Konami doesn't care about they're fans either.

They haven't been very creative with the other franchises as of late; reason why Mega Man Legends 3 for 3DS got cancelled was not just because of how tight their money was, but also because they were running out of ideas on how to make the game in the first place. Seriously, Capcom needs a new creative team for franchises like these; they can't hold on to the same team forever.
