This is incredible! I could definitely use something like this for creating terrains. How well does the detail hold up when you move in closer?

Thanks for the comment. Details? Of course it depends upon the resolution you used in rendering the world...
But Terragen, at least in this old release (0.9) that I'm using, is not useful to generate 3D environments for gaming or so.

I like this. How far up is the camera position, and how did you get the water effects around the shoreline?

The cam is 250 mt high, while the hills in foreground are 120 mt high max. Mountains in the background reach 450 mt.
About the water, go on the water form, then play with the parameters on the "shore" tab.

I dunno how big it equates to. But I'm using a 4097x4097 size terrain for most of my renders now, as the terrain detail is improved.
