that's awesome! i do that kind of stuff with my CGs all the time but i never thought to do it with dolls heh XD

and yes i definitely did used to tool. i've been dolling since like 2001 XD! i should put up a zip of my old dolls. i've already done that with my old hideous bases heh. i'll definitely give tooling a try soon though.

Haha, I'm honored that you think so. To be honest, making tool-shaded dolls drives me insane, because I feel like I don't have enough (read: 100% hahaha) control over everything. I even, er, "cheated" on this and did some manual AAing. XD

So I think I will just admire the tooling pros from afar

I manual a/a on my tool dolls all the time, and pixel bits, as well as tool bits XD that's why I find strictly pixel shading so hard, because I just want to pick up the tool and smooth something out instead of use pixel techniques XD

I feel the opposite way, I guess. I think strictly pixeling has become so ingrained, that it's just easier for me to AA or dither my way to smoothness. XD
