Thanks, Becarra. Wow, this scene feels like I completed it years ago. I had so many problems with getting the arrows on the correct side, and I don't know that I have it correct yet.Β

While I'm no archer hehe, a friend of mine does this as a hobby.

He told me that the arrow should be on the left hand side of the
bow, this was when I used a bow for a right handed character, I
don't know if it should be the opposite or the same for any left
handed characters.

Ah, yes, you are correct. I'm left handed, but as a kid I was told to keep the arrow on the left which is not correct. Probably why I always failed at archery. Right hand, left side arrow. Left hand, right side arrow. I'll have to go look again. Those little details always bug me.

I dare say a quick google search should reveal the correct way to hold a bow in either hand

After seeing your whole gallery i found it extremly dificult not to click favourte button on every artwork. To find and click one only was even more dificult as they are all increadibly beautiful with impressive amout of details and fantastic lighting. The love you have for your characters is clear and it makes your artworks even more pleasent to admire. I love how they tell a stories, how the character grow and change. They are alive and beautiful.
This particular artwork captured my attantion with its mistery and increadible unique colours of lights. The light seems like another actor in the scene. Just amazing!

Oh my Gawwwd!! This looks marvelous, Glen!! Also archer poses are so hard, but you nailed. I LOVE the light and the whole fantasy feel!
All these trees and plants, i think a scene like this would take some hours for me..i'm not patient. So, iΒ΄m curious again... did you rendered all at once? Or separately?

Thank you so very much, Juliana. I was a little worried about the rather strong darkness of the scene, but funky things sometimes happen when I upload images to the internet. The take on a more saturated, darker look. This is one entire scene, but I broke it down into three separate renders. Or rather, Daz forced me to do so. This is one of those projects where I scream and scream and scream and have to walk away from. Five Genesis 3 men, all dressed in G3-G8 outfits can render with all the background vegetation, including the trees, in about two to three hours. But one Genesis 3 female and one Genesis 3 male with just 1 tree crashes Daz Studio no matter what I did? I mean, even the Iray analysis looked fine. It truly boggles my mind sometimes. My newest scene completely rendered with one full size G3male and about 10 G3females...go figure.

I feel like I'm in a sort of slump lately. I feel like my composition and lighting are a little off, but maybe it always is. I think it's just real life stuff which has been interfering lately and keeping me very busy and exhausted. I've been struggling with these images for about a month now. Glad vacation is almost here. I'm ready for a break from reality.

And the archer poses...omg I was so freaking angry. I actually had to render Igraine (the lady fairy in front) and her male companion all over when I realized the poses I used as a starting base had the hands/arms in the wrong position. That's how they are when you buy them. So damned stupid... So this thing actually was about five renders (three separate with two spot renders to correct the incorrect posing.

When I used 3Delight, I rendered everything at once. It was fine if the scene was big and crowded. Never was a problem. But with Iray it's so boring. I always have to render parts by parts.
And , in my opinion, your images are always impressive. Sometimes I think I'm being repetitive in the comments. lol
And I agree on the archer poses. That's why, although I love archers, it's rare for me to make my characters use bow and arrow (or they use it, but I hardly show them shooting an arrow).

One of the things I do is hold a pencil in one hand and pretend it's a bow so I can see how the arrow would sit/be held. It's how I figured out those archer poses I purchased were incorrect.
