Yes, but Phoenixs means rebirth. Destroying something old and crippled birthing a new life. Old finn would be the old and 'Phoenixs' being the birth through him.

We only saw the crown's affects on him after he'd been wearing it for a day . Though he was starting to get a little muddled about who he was...
Oh, and for even more feels, in this universe, Jake became the Lich King after Finn accidentally set off a nuclear bomb.

While the concept is interesting enough...I can't help but think he'd be a pathetic weakling like this. It doesn't matter how much more "power" he has at this point. Now he doesn't care for anything. He lacks the desire or passion he once had before, simply being indifferent and cold-hearted to everything. Void of determination or attachment to anything, he'd never be able to be half the person he was before the change because he lost everything that gave him his "real" power. Just an indifferent, apathetic jerk like so many others...

Ultimately the one who loses out is Ice Queen if she intended him to be an ally or even a "sweetheart", because he wouldn't care to assist her in anything and would slap her aside as soon as she showed affection for being "annoying".

Still, I know "corruption" is certain people's "thing", and,Β where manga is concerned, fangirls prefer abusive, cold-hearted jerks to nice and caring individuals.Β It's a neat little bit of fanart as well as a concept, and I definitely prefer this kind of more "manga" style to the look on the show.

In other words, an indifferent, apathetic jerk at best and some loose cannon psychopath at worst. Pathetic. Power is worthless without a worthwhile motivation behind it.Β Otherwise he would have been killed long ago. Anything that gave him strength before is gone, unless you're trying to say he always had "hate for his friends" as his motivation in part, because if it's merely some "implanted"Β false insertion then he's little more than some dancing puppet, and puppets don't have the motivation to do anything, let alone be serious threats.Β If he can be so simply "broken", then he's got nothing left in him that is still "solid" and he's weaker than ever. Or perhaps he always was weak if he's so easy to snap.
He's not "the cold hearted", "the swiftest blade", or "the Phoenix". He's a joke wearing a "Finn suit".

Anything that gave him strength before is gone, yes, but focus is placed on -before-. He isn't Finn anymore. The 'Hero' named Finn had died long ago, on the day he became the 'Phoenix'. He is now not just a phantom forever haunting his ex-friends, but the Destroyer wearing the suit of a man that was once called, remembered as Finn.
He only have one desire now, one single all-encompassing desire, a burning, flaming, raging like a firestorm within him beneath the shell of ice, that is to watch civilisation rot away into the dust, the barbarity that it once rose from. He will make sure it happens...
