Description Variable X, or just "X", is my girl OC. She and Variable Y, "Y" were actually part of an entire alphabet and several special stitchpunks made over in America when the war started. The only problem is that when the American Scientist tried to send his work over to the professor, the plane was hit in the crossfire between machines and humans and went down in flames out in an open field. Only a few stitchpunks survived the crash, being scattered across the ground. Some were reduced to nothing but melting metals and burnt scraps of cloth and wires.
They find 9 and 7's group later while exploring several years later. This all occurs in a rp with me and . Her character is n5, who used to smile but then his twin brother, n6, was killed by the machine. n6 and HIS family, (which has nothing to do with X's or 7's) were the ones to find my other OC, "i" (imaginary number) who is simply an enigma and belongs to no group at all.
THEIR group also found 7's and 9's but actually before X's group.
XD This all sounds REALLY confusing. I may have to make a time line.

Anyway, I only drew these three because in our rp there is actually a love triangle thing going on where Y likes X but X doesn't like having to be told who to like and she sort of has known Y forever and thinks of him more as family, so then she sort of follows n5 around because they ended up fighting the Machine together. ^u^ Yeah, its fun. Especially since n5 feels sort of excluded from all the groups since his brother has died and he doesn't know where he belongs anymore.

^u^ I hope you like these sketches!

XD Well he uses it like a hammer anyways. Good luck stealing it. You'd have to go through X first because he's her man. (much to Y's disapproval...)

Aw, I like these three! You've drawn cute poses for them and it's interesting to see how you'veΒ incorporatedΒ their symbols/namesake in X and Y in particular.

^u^ Why thank you! The one thing I couldn't step out without would probably be my scarf, though when you have the probability of it snagging or choking you, I didn't think it would be practical for a stitchpunk sadly. ^u^ But I love my striped scarf.

talk about tragic

zixmix In reply to sketchris [2014-02-15 15:01:07 +0000 UTC]

8D I thought no one read descriptions anymore! >w< You definitely get kudo points for that and now have moved up on the level of coolness! Thank you so much for taking the time to do that! Β

^w^ Yeah, the airplane crash was pretty bad. My other character, Math, was one of the specialists on the plane (so he was a stitchpunk with a specific skill he was really good at. X3 You could probably guess what) and he actually was supposed to be dead, but Y fixed him up using the scraps from their fallen comrades... it's sort of gruesome, but at the time Y thought he was the only survivor and he scoured the crash site looking for any sign of life....Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sketchris In reply to zixmix [2014-02-15 21:56:32 +0000 UTC]

well I often try to! I was sort of in a rush when I came across the picture at first djkghgj [and thanks for the coolness points much appreciate]

im often like really self-conscious about my story concepts that others might find gruesome because I sort of have concepts like that on the occasion. I really think that Y was just being resourceful X'D i wouldn't want a friend of mine to die either. The trauma could also have easily caused little regard for symbolic respect of the fallen, and he's just instinctively do whatever he could to save his friend. And hey, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. even if the lemons happen to be the dead bodies of your comrades. erm. Yeah.Β

zixmix In reply to sketchris [2014-02-16 14:41:57 +0000 UTC]

That makes sense. OwO Yeah, that was the situation Y was in, though sometimes now he looks at Math and wondered if he did the right thing, but then he always catches himself and is just glad his buddy is alive.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sketchris In reply to zixmix [2014-02-17 00:36:53 +0000 UTC]

That's a very relatable concept and I can understand that
i mean in nature, no, I don't think many people can relate to having to save their friend by ripping off the flesh of their dead comrades, but the basis of it is simple and roots from very human-type thinking:
A decision is made without much thought or planning but in desperation, and that person wonders if they should regret their decision, though are thankful for the consequences of said action, if that makes sense.

Like my friend was really losing it one time, and I said some things that hurt her at the time but they were all in favor of getting her to snap out of it. Yes I did end up hurting her, and I regret that, but it resulted in her revelation that some of the choices she was making weren't for the best. She has done the same exact for me. And while we lament on our choices, we are still thankful for the overall outcome.

I kind of rambled sorry gggg I like story concepts like that though; unrealistic in nature but relatable in basis. Awesome stuff

XD It's cool. I find what you have to say very interesting! I'm glad that you and your friend could have a relationship as in where even if the one were to hurt the other you could still be friends. Friends are supposed to help each other after all, and you were only trying to help. Story concepts like that are pretty relative. ^u^ Your analysis is quite interesting. Have you ever considered being a story critique?

Goolly jdhgjh I'm glad

We've been best friends for about 5 years now. Ironically, we met right here on dA. Then I skyped her for a while, then I met her in person about 2 or 3 years ago where we had some goofy fun times. Right now we're about to the point where we both have enough money to buy her a plane ticket to come up here and stay with me for a couple months :]

gughgug wow thank you! Story critic? Naaaah. Not as an occupation anyway. I do like to write though and love learning about those different kind of techniques and tropes, especially character development. Thanks yo!

It's really hard to pick a favorite. I like the ribbons and the hat Variable X has, and I love the fact she where's gloves, she's so adorable >w< And I like the unusual choice for the optic shapes for Variable Y, very creative. But you gotta love zippers in n5's design Plus he has a hammer and a weapon, awesome x3

XD It's actually a gavel, one of those things that judges use in court. ^u^ It makes sense since his whole thing is "to justify us."
^u^ I'm really happy you liked the designs! XD And yeah, while designing the characters "X" and "Y" I tried to incorporate x's and y's into their designs so X's straps make an X and there is an X on the back of her head, and then on her back because of the straps and then on the button and lols. X3 And then Y has this odd sweater thing going on. My friend said it looks like a Toga! I really like the feedback! It's really appreciated! >u< I always get excited when people comment because it doesn't seem like many people are on anymore!
