Coming from semi-tropical Malfi, Genevieve saw snow and ice only in a freezer. She never thought it can look at least a bit interesting. Turned out it actually can.
Tarsus was an insane place for a lot of reasons. Usually, wealthy and influental people liked to live in the top part of the hive cities, but not here. Instead, they went for the foundation and turned it into one giant freezer, just to show their wealth and ability to control everything, even the weather. Initially, the snow wasn't a part of this idea, but frost continued to build in a lot of places due to temperature differences and just people breathing.
To Genevieve, it sounded like a dark and horrible place. She never thought that giant caves filled with frost, snow, ice and people can look like it's a part of some old terran fairy tale.
