Description I drew this with the ye olde traditional pencil. Initially it was done for a contest when the first FFAC media just came out (that really lame picture of Cloud and Seph next to the FF logo) and I was horrified by the way they cropped his trademark spiky hair and altered his anime style eyes; so this was my own rendition of how I thought he should look semi-realistically. Thankfully, the newer screen captures show him with longer hair and pretty eyes so I'm happy again .

P.S: I plan to color this picture in Photoshop once I figure out how!!

Oh man, that is so cute... waaaaah, I love it! The hair looks really great, and I like how you did his eyes... ^___^

Thanks a ton! I really worked hard on those eyes and that hair. It was the first ever time I managed to draw Cloud the way I always imagined him - at least in a slightly less-anime style.

A pencil? Oh bless me will you? LoL I could never do anything like this. That's just awsom. I'd leave a critisism but I see no flaws.
Hm, the zipper doesn't look so....

Hehehe Just keep practicing, whiping out the drawings and studying art! I'm sure you are an excellent pencil artist, so I insist that you never criticise yourself (too many other people are always happy to do that *shakes fist at mean people*). My advice is to force yourself to draw "something a little better" every time you put pencil to paper. Best of luck!!

My goodness, Zocko (I am calling you Zocko from now on). Everytime I see your drawings, they're better.

And it's about time you updated! Which brings to mind the question :: ignoring my own scanner-ful laziness :: How did you get this onto your computer?

Try using layers to colour it. Using the paint brush and eraser tools on a transparent layer is easier than selections and the fill tool on the existing layer. To retain the outline, you should start by making a layer and using the line tool to outline. Then you just keep that layer on top.
Where you can find the layers tools on Photoshop is your department.

All right, I sound all know-it-all, so I'm done. Great job on this, I love the shading on his coat and his face is brilliant. His little shoulder pin is really good too.

Thanks for the positive comments ^_^! I really had to get something FFAC related up before the movie. I'm happy with how his face turned out too. He has that sad look in his eyes that is so apparent in all the movie screens. Poor Cloud

I actually found the plug to my scanner HURRAY! So I can add more artwork without harassing other people. I will try to use layers like you said ... actually I did try yesterday but I could only get red, yellow, and blue to work. It was strange. I think I understand what you mean by outlining it but ARGHAYGAH that takes so much time and patience. I wish patience was buyable because I need more of it.

Are you sure it's not just his "Mako eyes"? Or is it that his beloved Aeris was so brutally stabbed?

Only red, yellow, and blue? That sounds like a specific kind of layer. You want to add a raster layer--raster being a fancy word that means (in this case) regular. Wait... what does it actually mean?

:: pulls up dictionary.com ::

~~~~~~
ras-ter ( [ insert pronunciation here ] )
n. <-- that means it's a noun
A scanning pattern of parallel lines that form the display of an image projected on a cathode-ray tube of a television set or display screen.
~~~~~~

Well... That helpeth not.... at all... eth...

Anyway, from context raster means a computer image made of pixels--not vectors.

Next time, read ~Episode Two: Vectors Defined~ Stay tuned for partial excitement*.

Enough of this dumbness. On with different dumbness! I'm going to quote you on that buyable patience bit. I'm collecting all these great quotes from friends and people I know. I have at least one and a half pages already. Some of Dawn's quotes are hysterical.

* Quote: Strong Bad email "Radio" under the 'Old Timey Radio' bit.

Thanks!! I really wish I had more time. I admire all those busy artists who manage to crank out tons of great pieces and still attend school and work on a daily basis. Ha, me? Never.

If you want Photoshop there are plenty of ways to get it. You could get a job, beg for money, or if you have a really awesome info tech teacher like I did, you could ask him/her for a PS disc. I have the "educational version". Hehe good luck!!
