... another film you'll love (!) [link] ... Cocteau was btw Dali's mentor (same with Satie, Picasso, Diagilew, etc. ... Cocteau was the guy behind the scenes) - check excerpts of those films on youtube

PS: in the 60s Jean Marais also played the 'Fantomas' comedy with Louis deFunes - you probably know that from tv

I've heard before about Cocteau but I've neved had the chance to watch this movie...wow it seems really interesting!thank you for all these pieces of information! they're precious to me!!
ooh I remember my parents told me about fantomas once or twice...they both were so scared of it when they were children! although I think they've made so many versions of this film..so I don't know which one they were so scared of!

OrphΓ©e is the best film I know - pure poetry - and right, the 60s Fantomas wasn't just humorous, it was damn scary and brutal, too (back then) ... well, like James Bond movies of that time

James. Indeed. Sad as always.

it's true....but I made such a mess with the shades too dark
However I'm glad you could see him, through all these sad shadows

What??? Too dark??? GIRL! What are you talking about?
Shadows creates a 3D character of a picture. That's the core of the use of light and shadow.
But if you want to draw crystal clear lines this one's doesn't fit in this. I'm not doing any pressure but i like more shadows which is clearly shown on my gallery. However your style is different from mine so I have to be reconciled with this.

lol...ok ok...I didn't mean to put there less shadow, just a little bit lighter on the eyes! What you're saying here it's true: 3D can be achieved only by shadows, and, yes, we have different styles, but I like yours because you dare to show all the blackness of shades, while I'm...maybe, a little bit shy and terrified by the idea of ruin all in one sec ^_^
thanks for the comment, anyway...it's interesting to compare styles and ideas

And i like yours but you don't have to be afraid cause you are already doing a great job with pencil.
So there is only a small step to do the same with inks.
Those who are afraid live only HALF-LIFE.
Damn! This could be a great slogan for the next part of the game.

Sometimes i even amaze myself.

hmm, well from thelook of him he does favor him alot. i think you did a good job. but i guess you were going for a more realistic look instead? either way the tone is very nice and the facial expresion works well for it. so its good in my eyes, aswell as others i'm sure. lol, i bet even james dean himself would love it ^^

Zoeira In reply to theultimateT [2010-02-19 09:18:20 +0000 UTC]

Oh, thanks!
Actually I wasn't looking for a more realistic look....The effect should be a cartoon-like reality, and the pencil drawing was good, but then I ruined the expression with all that black shade, especially on his eyes! Ok, he had a dark personality, but I made it too dark, know what I mean? Anyway, I thank you again, beacuse all these comments encourage me a lot ^_^

oh, yea, i know what your saying. it sorta makes him look even darker epresion wise, but its still pretty good overall. and i've notice all your work does sorta have that cartoony side to them. are you studing to become a cartoonist or are you already one? oh, and welcomed as always miss Z ^^

thank you, mister T!
oh no no, I'm not studying art at all....I study languages!! I'm not a cartoonist, and think i'll never become: this is just an hobby I've always had

theultimateT In reply to Zoeira [2010-02-23 21:07:07 +0000 UTC]

oh wow! lol, thats a shock, i mean you could have seriously fooled me. but thats still awsome. you definatly have the talent for it. and thats cool, how many lanuages do you study or know?

Zoeira In reply to theultimateT [2010-02-25 10:27:20 +0000 UTC]

mmmh... I can speak Spanish very well.. English it's ok. Something of Portuguese and a very little bit of German (I studied it for5 years at high school, but now I've forgotten most of it: it's difficult unless you practise it)....and Italian, as my mothertounge, of course ^_^

However, thank you again, Mr.T

theultimateT In reply to Zoeira [2010-02-25 17:50:19 +0000 UTC]

lol, welcomed as always miss Z. lol, i was taught german aswell for like 2 years, but never learned much of anything, except how to say hi...but thats pretty cool. i'd like to learn other languages myself just for fun, and also for my stories i write. you know, to better develop my characters and all. but its always pretty neat, especaly when you know more than two, plus your own mother tounge. lol

oh, I imagine that when you write a story, the most cultural & psicological background you give to your characters, the better it is! Anyway there're writers that invented from nothing an entire culture (and in the case of Tolkien's, even a language)!

theultimateT In reply to Zoeira [2010-02-27 05:50:55 +0000 UTC]

yea, thats exactly what i hope to achievefor myself and my stories..well some of them anyways. i got a huge imagionation when it comes to stuff like that. i want to set them in an actual world, be able to travel to realistic locations, even if they don't exist. but yea, the problem is that most of my work is still in my head
