Description This is Carver, the 'death-like' Reaper of mortal souls from my Willowhayne series.
He likes marshmallows and actually being quite nice to people. He's not as mean as he looks bu has a mysterious and sinister past, of which he never speaks.

This took em AGES to do, the colouring as an attempt at something new using photoshop. I hope you all like it.

Allow me to comment on the coloring, as that seems to be what you spent the time on.

It's really looking great! Your picture tended to rely on your intricate inking for their shading, but combining that with a variety of shades in the colors themselves adds a whole new dimension. Most especially in the cloak and in the shirt. The METAL blows my mind!

I'm not going to comment on your AWESOME DETAILS or INCREDIBLE COSTUME DESIGN because I always do, and you don't need to hear it again. Nope, not gonna say it at all

I am now picturing a chibi version of him roasting marshmallows, and looking unimpressed as the one he's roasting goes up in flames. XD

I love all the motion in the picture, and how the metal looks rather shiny. Very cool costume design, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

Thankies very much I need to find a bit of him from the story and attach it, just so people can see what his interactions are like with other characters. It's very much.... "You're death?" "Yes, but would you like a marshmallow?"

Ooh, I'd love it if you would add a little of the story to it. Sure, a picture says a thousand words, but sometimes a thousand isn't enough to really capture all aspects of a character! I really like that Carver goes against the stereotypical Death image. Always makes a story more interesting. ^^

I'm actually writing a bit more of the story now. I'll post a bit about him in a journal or something next time I update. Death has been so over done, and I wanted to be different to the infamous Mr Pratchett, so having a death who can actually change the fate of characters by generally being compassionate....or not as the case may be, is interesting. For example, who gave him the right to choose who lives and who dies? It's...intersting heh, that's the only word I can come up with at the mo. Tired Zoe

Ironic you mention it since I'm reading one of Pratchett's books (Sourcery) right now! XD That is a very different take on Death, and I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. I'll look forward to the journal entry. ^^

It's a series I have started to write, there's the first chapter posted here on DA but I've changed it a lot since then. I also have a short story from the same universe with a girl who marries the lord of the underworld...and is actually quite happy about it LOL.

Yes, it's a fair cop guv, I'm a member of the League of Illegal Idea Stealers. I feel shame lol. Nah, we all end up crossing over with characters at some point in time, that's the trouble nowerdays, it's so hard to come up with anything original. But I promise this was nothing intentional. The Zoe is not like that!
