I rarely say this, but I LOVE this picture. I finally started fiddling in photoshop (although most of this pic was done in PaintShop Pro4!!!) and did the background, including the moon in it. The moons never looked real enough in my other pictures, so I experimented and came up with this! Lots of blurring and smudging and using brushes
The actual lighting too was fun to do, as well as the magical misty effects near the bottom.Anyway, this is a sequal to Over Protective Werewolf...an old picture I did of Darren and Celeste.
As you should know by now, these are the characters from my book (OUT 16TH FEB 2007), and unlike many werewolves, my Darren is very protective towards the one person who has ever been brave enough to actually go near him and care about him on the night of a full moon- Celeste. Because of this he is her big furry protector and is loyal beyond all understanding.
Celeste is our heroine, and member of The Seventh Circle, an organization set in London which is a haven for all those who walk the night and mean human kind no harm. Saying that, if anyone tried to hurt her, as you can see here, I don't think Darren would have any qualms about making good use of his claws!!
Anyway, I like this. I don't think I could be happier if I had a ginat werewolf guardian looking after me. He looks so snuggly and warm too.

It falls off- which is why they always need someone to clean up after them. Case and point, an extract from my second book:
Laughlan then turned to his housekeeper, who had been waiting patiently by the door, and addressed her fondly. “Drinks, Grace, please, for all my guests; then turn in yourself, it’s been a long night.”
The woman politely bobbed a curtsey and hurried off to do the master of the house’s bidding. She might have been a lone human in a world of vampires, but Grace had not known a better employer than Mr Laughlan. He had never treated her unfairly, and in return she had always been discreet about her employer’s slightly strange house guests and his nocturnal comings and goings. She just wished that the werewolf who visited didn’t leave so much fur lying all over the place. For one, it clogged up the Hoover, but seeing as he was mostly a polite and charming young man when human, Grace was just about able to forgive him the inconvenience.

Hey zoe, got any advice for a wannabe writer(me)?

1. Never give up, no matter how many rejections you get from publishers/agents.
2. Do it because you love it.
3. Write for yourself.
4. Edit, re-edit, be ruthless. You can never edit too much.
5. Read as much as you can. Learn new styles. Don't be afraid to experiemnt.
6. Try and get something, no matter how trivial, down on paper every day. Even if you never use it, you will have learnt something.
7. If you can dream it, you can achieve it. It's just a matter of time.
8. Be self critical, but not to the point where you throw everything away.
9. Never be afraid to ask for advice, and get as many people to read your work as possible. Tell them to be honest.
10. Keep a notepad on you at all times. The best ideas come in the strangest of places.

Awesome. You should make a Coloring/shading/highlight tutorial for fur or something. That's the hardest part to me.

I just try to follow the contour of the fur and instead of using smooth lines, use jaggedy ones. Use three different tones, then pick up highlights with a lighter one. That's basically all there is to it

This is a really great picture. You should definitely be proud of it. It has so many great aspects going for it. Everything from the coloring to the emotions of the characters.

Actually, father just got home with a snuggly little puppy... he never mentioned it until this morning, it was too sudden; I came up with the name Csenkesz *tschen-kes*, that' s some kind of plant, he liked the name but said it wouldn' t fit this kind of puppy... And I got Little Witch to sit by him while he slept!
