I was listening to Within Temptation's new album, and there's a song on it called Truth Beneath the Rose. It has these amazing lyrics, one line being 'You will see the darker side of me' and it inspired me to draw this picture of Celeste from my book. She's supposed to be the heroine of sorts, but as everyone knows, my characters are not all sterotypical goodies and baddies, and when something happens in Book 2 (I will not say what) it causes Celeste to get very angry and Vichalace takes over her rage and gives her these amazing powers. However she almost kills someone while consumed by her own burning desire for revenge. Therefore, this is the darker side of Celeste, and one which I plan to use a lot more in the future.I think there are no such things as heros... just people who have more light in them than darkness... or at least that's what makes for an interesting character anyway!!!

I LOVE that band ... hadn't heard about the song though, which is FANTASTIC ... makes me worried about Celeste, though ...

She's got a much more interesting pose than many of your drawings. Keep experimenting with stuff like this, it looks awesome.

I do a lot of standard poses to get the character's design right first, as Cel's established and drawn a lot I feel comfortable doing more with her. I am a firm believer in basics first, then complicated stuff lol

i've had a picture just like tht in my head for years, (but it had like a red glow of power from the hands or fire) and in my dreams, but i cud never draw it, the hair always went wrong and i cud never make the fire look cool.

Most of them are undead anyway, so it's a lot harder for me to kill off characters than other authors - I will say no names here although it's obvious who I mean lol - and personally killing characters off just coz I can is not my way... however they may suffer, and I have something seriously nasty planned in the third book involving a vampire, a pair of pliers and a few less fangs... oh and a psychotic bad guy who I can't wait to introduce at the end of Book 2... he's a right b*stard!! And that's being nice!!

Oh and there's lots of things you may enjoy... at the moment I want to write the ending to book 2 as in my notes at the bottom of the manuscript it says 'and I'm just so fricking excited about this!!' which amuses me every time I read it. As for book 3 and beyond... well the ideas keep on flowing and new characters keep apearing in my head, and I just want to keep writing! Only 6 chapters from completing book 2 now...but they're gonna be hard I just know it!!!
Oh yeah, and I'm being published again, but not prose, I entered this poetry competition and now I'm gonna be in an anthology of poetry
