This has taken me five DAYS to colour! Doing all the trees and the branches just took AGES! Still, I hope it's worth it. I love the way the lighting fell in the end- a sort of dusky look to the pic making me really like it.I wanted that lazy look to the setting, yet with a really vibrant young character. Her colours took me ages to get right, as I felt like she was a character who would have lots of mix and match accessories as well as a 'colourful' personality.
As you know she's a neuma, a strange creature with patchy fur and a long tail. The bands they have around their tails show both age and rank in their society. This particukar girly is of a wealthy well thought of family, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't like the odd advaneture here and there and is more than willing to get her clothes dirty- much to the annoyance of her parents!!

Heh, glad you like it. I get asked about my colouring a lot and I shamefacedly answer the same every time. I use PaintShopPro4 which I got free off of a magazine. No photoshop and everything is coloured on one layer. I ink, then scan in at about 300dpi then simply colour it. Most of it is cell style, but I find the simplicity works for me

Well, I take my hat off to you. I think I must have a soft spot for simple things that actually aren't that simple. Like the game Go - so few rules, so many possibilities.

The colors are gorgeous and vibrant, especially the orange pieces. I like the rank idea with the bands, but then I have something of a thing for class distinction. The hair accessories and the cute little bugs scattered about adds a lot to the picture too. ^^ Nice landscape, while I'm at it. I can see why this piece took so long!
