I was starting to get a bit worried due to the long, un-announced hiatus.

Oh this isn't a Zoid. She is a character I have been thinking about for the last couple years. I have little in the way of talent to portray her either the form of writing or drawing.
I was away due to being very busy with school and work.

Hmm. Proportions-wise, are we talking the NASA Valkyrie, a Honda P-series, Asimo, or the Aldebaran Nao. Finished work isn't possible, but tomorrow's classes got cancelled, so if the mood strikes...

Oh she is about the size and shape of a human, 6' 0" tall (excluding ears), and powered by a small, 2-cycle, opposed piston compression ignition engine.

Tail or no tail? I've got something loosely based off of the NASA DRC Valkyrie at this point.

She has a tail, its a moderately long, thin tail, made from vulcanized rubber, and many oil filled channels, which cause the tail to bend when different pressures are applied.
Uhh no she doesn't really look like that, she is pretty thin, you could almost say lanky. Very industrial looking.

The way I imagine her is actually alot thinner, she can be described as lanky I suppose. Her torso would also be more flexible, it is made of many overlapping steel plates, and underneath are a series of hydraulic rams and pivots to control its movement. "My characters name is Zera, she is a machine, built in 1986, stands on two legs, mostly human like in general shape. She stands exactly 6' 0" tall (excluding her ears) and weighs just under 800lbs (despite her scrawny appearance). She is made mostly of high strength steel, and most of her movement is provided by hydraulic cylinders. Despite this her movements are very smooth and fluid. Power is provided by a small 2-stroke oil cooled compression ignition opposed piston engine with an extremely high compression ratio. Under normal everyday operation this engine is pretty quite, barely audible when near her, but under high loads and RPM's it has a wonderful sound. She actually can produce a growling sound using only her engine. It is a very deep low growl with just a hint of diesel-clatter. This engine can burn a variety of fuels (including gasoline and alcohol), with varying efficiency. She actually breaths not all unlike a human, she has two hydraulically operated diaphragms that intake air, force them into the engine, while drawing out exhaust gasses and exhausting them on her breath. This also provides a sort of forced induction effect for her engine. Depending on the fuel she is burning, her engines load, and other factors she sometimes exhales various amounts of dark smoke (either from her nose or mouth).
In order to be self-sufficient without a liquid fuel source, she can actually consume raw meat products, which are then heated and the grease that it produces is filtered using a maintenance free centrifugal oil filter and then stored for later combustion. Using this same filter system she can safely consume used engine oils and lubricants, although she is not much of a fan of the taste.
Her head is not at all like a humans, she has a large jaw capable of delivering thousands of pounds of crushing power, lined with pointed teeth. Her long narrow ears are able to pivot in order to adjust to her audio conditions and mood. The most notable feature on her head is by far her eyes. Her vision is only slightly better than that of a humans. Her eyes are somewhat trapezoidal in shape, with flat metal eyelids that occasionally blink over her eye, wiping away any debris and depositing a new thin layer of oil over its surface. Behind the first layer of protective glass there is what looks similar to a cameras lens. A complex system of lenses and apertures with a glowing red center. It is always moving and adjusting depending on things like focus, brightness, and which way she is looking. There is a thick black rubber strip that starts at her eye and wraps up the side of her head, flush with the metal. Underneath this rubber is a movable mechanism that pushes on the rubber from underneath, this creates something similar to eyebrows, and are used in combination with her eyelids and ears to express emotion.
On either side of her snout is where the air inlet/exhaust is located. It is a trapezoidal duct that protrudes slightly from her head.
Inside her head is her computer. Because it was built in 1986, it doesn't have the shit-ton of processing power you would expect from a machine so complex, instead her software was purpose designed solely for that hardware, and is painstakingly written entirely on a machine-code level. This means there is no overhead that an operating system would require, everything executes directly on the CPU. Its her software that actually makes her so special, as she is 100% autonomous and has a personality and consciousnesses, her Psychology is in fact indistinguishable from a humans. This software (or firmware rather) is stored solely on a RAM board, and if something would to happen to her where this RAM lost power, the data would be lost and she would never work again. This is intentional so the technology would never fall into enemy hands (this also means it is possible for her to die). As of today however she possesses the only copy of this code.
Her hands and feet are slightly large for her frame, and more square than a humans. Her palms and fingers are fitted with rubber pads for grip, and each of her fingers has an extremely sharp retractable claw, same for her feet.
Her exterior is typically painted a dull, darkish grey color. She also has a very complex system of feeling touch, (much too complex for this note). She is capable of experiencing all the human emotions and feelings, including pain.
Her voice is indistinguishable from a humans, and is produced when her exhaling breath is passed through a complex system of metallic strips that change their shape depending on various electrical signals, not too much unlike a humans voice-box. If you need to imagine her voice, its similar to that of Pat Benatar's.
As for her personality... She is an interesting, somewhat of a complex person. She is normally very shy and quite, but you know what they say about fearing the wrath of the patient man...
She also has a fear of drowning, as she is unable to swim. Water however does not otherwise effect her."
