How do you do the logos on your controllers? Is it a printout that you apply a gloss coat over? I'm extremely curious as it's perfectly done. Also are the honeycombs a laser-cut stencil that you did a fade over?Β

Yeah the logo is a decals that has been clear coated over. The honeycomb design was cut by hand, thank god I have plotter now. I dont remember exactly how I did it but it does look like a simple fade into the base color.

So do you print out the decals on clear film? Wow I couldn't imagine doing stencils that precise without a plotter, great work!

Yes I print on clear film. The honeycomb design is pretty big in my opinion so its not too hard to do. I once did the lettering on the door of the NES, all hand cut stencil. Now that was crazy, I dont want to tortureΒ myself like this ever again

I'm looking at a gen 1 NES now and I gotta agree I would not want to do that lol. What kind of paint do you use for clear coating? Most customizers seem to use Krylon Fusion but your work on the Conker controller looks like you use paintbrushes. And I'm really curious about what paint you use for the buttons, seems like most paint wouldn't be up to the wear and tear the buttons go through.
Again amazing work, some of the best I've seen.

its all automotive paint and clear. buttons can be painted with it without a problem. The clear is lesonal 2K HS premium 420
