Mmm well fan mail allows for a good length and sending links; but you can't edit it like bolding and italics and all. I talk to one person through use of fan mail. But maybe tagging someone's username in a text post and then sending them a message to reblog it would work; but keep in mind to put read mores if the text messages are long so not to read your followers' eyes
