The way you have approached this pratice piece is extrodinary and has once again demonstrated to us the real fantastic potentials that are being nurtured within you.
What makes this so visually striking is the not only the creativity of the monster istelf, but how you have approached the design with colour. The base layer of black that merges into the mild red of his skin works well and the appraoch of hues as both teh main layers and detail is outstanding. You've used soft tones to really make your creation become alive and vicious, yet the simple additions of colour have allowed you to achieve this greatly.
What I also like is the small renders of detail within the armour like skin, talons, teeth and fur. All the gentle approaches have allowed more mystic and darkness to expel out of the appearance.
You have shown how you are mastering your digital more and more, but also what real creativity you have in design unique and stunning monsters to view.

I really like the crystaline effect fo the natural armor. I do think that the teeth area could use some added detail, like for instance in the corner of the mouth instead of it being all teeth you also include fleshy gum. Also the nostrel could use some more defining and putting some stronger point highlights on the shell would give it an extra punch plus give the suggestion that it is a smooth reflective surface.
