Description John Byrne is ABSOLUTELY one of my favorite artists and a brilliant storyteller. His run on The Fantastic Four is legendary, bringing the foursome "back to basics" (as he called it), telling stories inspired by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's historic run (on the first 102 issues).
Above is my re-imagining of the cover of Fantastic Four Annual #17, 1983. At the time this was published, Byrne had sent the F.F. through the Negative Zone and when they returned, their uniforms had a negative color effect. That's what Byrne drew on the cover.
I put the foursome back in their traditional outfits and made a poster out of it. I have always loved that cover and this is what I did with it.

Thanks. I couldn't agree with you more. Other than Lee and Kirby, Byrne had the second best run on the book.
