Description Funnier if you know the people Mille Petrozza from Kreator and Kurt Brecht from D.R.I. Kurt told and I this story the other night and I haven't been able to stop laughing since then!! I had to make a comic. And since I'm being a shut-in today while "watching" the New England Patriots game online (NFL.com's got this cool thing you can "watch" for free... written play-by-play, pretty much) I decided now was the moment to devote some time into making a comic of this.

I can't draw Kurt. ;^; Ohhhh herman. Oh well. I tried.

For those of you who don't know, Mille LOVES D.R.I. a lot. So much. I'm sure he was going nuts in the best way possible when Kreator opened for them in '88

And in case anyone who didn't know wants to... the song they cover is "Lambs To The Slaughter" by Raven. Because Kreator is a thrash band, thus they have every right to cover incredibly random songs from random NWOBHM bands (and punk bands). This is law.

Anyway. I'm going back to my Kreatorfest.

I love Mille's face in the last panel, it's like ;^; times FIVE THOUSAAAAAAAND! I have to think that despite feeling so sad about that, he started chuckling soon after at the irony of the situation. So it worked out okay in the end! That is what I'm going to choose to believe, and I will ignore any statement that contradicts it!

And I know I've said this at least twice, but you really have progressed a loooot from the days of "Invasion of the Glenn's Body-Snatchers". You've gotten much better at making distinct faces and bodies, and your talent at drawing clothes and hair (which was always smashing in my opinion) has only gotten better since I first saw your art. I'm slightly curious though: it seems like you never draw furry/anthro stuff anymore, was that just a phase that you grew out of? Or have you just not really thought about it lately? Either way, you've got a lot of talent and potential, keep it up!

HAHAHAHA Thanks!! I rather enjoy it myself... haha And I want to knowwww! I seriously plan on asking him about this when I see Kreator! Which should be SOMEWHAT sooooon I hope. (They're recording a new album in January)

Thanks very much!! I'm so glad you think so Like I said, sometimes I'll be making OC's and then they'll turn out like Glenn... and I start cracking up! But no, seriously, thank you! I'm happy to hear that. I think the thing I work hardest at is faces and hair, trying to get them as close to the real person as is possible!

Oh! I think that's mainly just not something I've thought about in a while I do still love furry/anthro art and creating it (though I haven't in a bit). Maybe at some point soon I'll get on another kick!

I'm kinda surprised at how much your musical tastes seem to have changed since I met you, you seem to be a lot more into the less-famous NWOBHM and speed metal bands than you were a year or two ago. Then again, maybe you always liked them and just shifted back to them from Priest. I did something similar within the past few weeks, I still love metal but I'm re-discovering Eminem and really enjoying it.

No problem! I think I have the exact opposite problem, whenever I try to draw OC's, I can never seem to make them look like the same character twice. XD

Oh, okay. I was just kinda curious. If you do start making furry/anthro art again, I'll definitely check it out!

One last question, well two actually: 1.) Do you know what "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" (Or just MLP:FiM for short) is? And 2.) If you are familiar with it, do you like it at all? I'm asking because, if you have any interest in my future work, you should be warned that it's probably all going to be based on that show. XD

It definitely has evolved!! Actually, I got into NWOBHM back in earlyish '09, but the speed/thrash is a newer addition to my musical obsessions (as well as symphonic metal... and I totally blame Megadeth and Kreator for my thrash obsession) NWOBHM has been a huge part of my life for a while, though I guess I don't talk about it much (besides the random Avenger and Diamond Head fanart) but that was kind of my first "scene" that I got into.

Yeah, what I listen to is always interesting! There's usually a HUGE obsession and several side-obsessions None of which go away, more just get added! haha Obviously right now the big one right now is Kreator!

The things I love in music right now are raw, edgy power and epicness Like this band Morgana Lefay... they're epic and fuck... dark power metal with thrash influences! they're one of my side-obsessions now

I have that problem sometimes, too! Damn OC's.

Okay, cool! I'll have to see if I can do anything I do love furry/anthro art a lot! It's been a while since I've attempted any of that stuff!

Answers! 1) I definitely know what it is 2) I actually haven't seen it yet. I've only seen the original MLP

Megadeth ROCKS!!! I don't like them quite as much as METALLICAAAAAA, and I think that Dave Mustaine's got a bit of an inferiority complex, but I do believe that Davey boy and Megadeth deserve more credit and love than they get. Dave's a talented songwriter, even if his lyrics aren't always that great, and I don't think he gets enough praise for that. If he could let go of his bad feelings towards Metallica, I think he could be even better!

I haven't listened to very much Kreator, just those few songs that you recommended to me, but I did like what I heard. I can see why you're all "MY PRECIOUSSSSSSS" about them. XD

I've never listened to Morgana Lefay, but they sound fuckin' kickASS! I'll have to check them out on Youtube sometime.

And speaking of checking stuff out, if you love Megadeth and you're into thrash metal, you'd probably like this band: [link] I DARE you to NOT scream "AWWW YEAH!!!" and give yourself whiplash when the solo comes in. My only beef with this band is that they've only put out a four-song EP, and I WANT MOAAAAR!!!

As for My Little Pony, the original MLP has NOTHING on the new series, MLP:FiM. The new series is co-created by Lauren Faust, who was also behind "The Powerpuff Girls" and "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends". It is kind of extremely sweet at times (it is a kids' show, after all) but it's got so much absolute crack humor, as well as some thinly-veiled adult humor. I have so much fun in reading too much into the relationships between certain characters, and the fanart/fanfics for the show just make me love it that much more! Also, the fans for it are some of the nicest people I've met on DA (for the most part, there's always exceptions). You should at least check out the first episode to see if you like it, here's a link: [link] If you like it, tell me so that I can officially welcome you to "The Herd". XD

I have arguments both ways when it comes to Megadeth and Metallica, but I think what you said is right. Dave's got a lot of problems, and I feel like a lot of Megadeth albums (later on) were lacking inspiration.

And it seems like with the Big 4 things are maybe starting to mend slightly! I sure as hell hope so. As long as Lars keeps his mouth shut

haha! Yeah, I'm quite in love with pretty much their entire discography There's only one album I don't care for, but that's it. There are very few bands (that have a fair few albums) that do that for me, but Kreator is one of them!

Morgana Lefay KICKS ASS!! This is the song that got me into them ->[link] And this is the song that got me REALLY into them!! -> [link] I drew the singer, Charles, recently. I've seen like... one interview with him (no one gives a shit about this band) and I wanna meet this guy so bad!!! He's so into dark, haunting, creepy shit!!

And this is the same singer, just another (more recent) band he was in, Inmoria -> [link]

dksfgnksd THAT WAS FUCKING SWEET. And I know your plight with bands not having a lot of material There are a lot of bands that came out in the 80's that I'm in love with, but they only had like... demos and EP's... or one album. (Or something where a singer I liked was only on one album or an EP or whatever... this happens to me SO FUCKING MUCH!!!!!!!)

That's really sweet!!! I'll definitely check that out and tell you what I think I gotta take off now, but I'll check that out once I come back home.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Still, he's put out some really good songs recently, even if the albums as a whole haven't been the best. "Washington is Next!", "The Right to go Insane" and "Sudden Death" are some of my favorite Megadeth songs, and all of them came out within the last four years.

Yeah, let's keep our fingers crossed on that one! Lars, I love you man, but you can be such a dick sometimes. (Of course, that's part of why I love him so much. )

I really liked both of those songs, I was headbanging along with them the whole way! I loved the gregorian chant-type thing that was in Maleficium, is it weird that that song (the music video too) reminded me A LOT of "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas? XDDD I haven't had time to listen to the last one (the one from Inmoria), but I'll try to look it up sometime soon.

Yeah, Acrassicauda fucking OWNS! I'm irritated that they don't have more stuff out, but they're still together and touring (If you go to any shows with Opeth in them, you might see Acrassicauda; they tour with Opeth a lot) so they'll hopefully make some more stuff. And I've heard rumors, even if they're pretty shady ones, of an actual album from them somewhere in the works. If you wanna hear a more thrashy song from them, here's the first song off of their EP, it's called "The Unknown": [link]

Cool, I hope you like it!

I wanna huuuuug him!! And I wanna tell him he's little, but I fear he'd get angry at me and never speak to me again!

Silly Mille!! He's so cute. Though maybe he should have talked to someone that wasn't Kurt. Sometimes... I'm really not sure Kurt knows what's going on around him!

Kurt: I didn't know you guys were this big in Europe!
Mille: .....
