I finally got around to improving this costume! The new game (which was AMAZING) kind of inspired me, so I made the Hobby Horse for Dragon*Con. Really, though, the only reason I made it was because I thought tons of people would be wearing Alice costumes, since the new game just came out, and I figured they would all have Vorpal blades...but really I only saw maybe five or ten, and most of them were wearing the commercial retail dress (meh). I'm still happy I made it, though. I got a wig and new boots too, so that really helped. I'm quite proud of how it looks now actually.
And yes. It was taken in a parking garage at Dragon*Con.

Man it would be EPIC to see any lass dressed up like Alice from the Madness Returns game! Damn that game was just so epic and even the original while I never noticed it before definitely shows a much more awesome and badass Alice. But anything that's one amazing cosplay outfit there ZombiesAteMyHomework , wow!
Don't know who made that dress but kudos to genius who paid attention to the game and did their homework. From the classic blood splatter over the garments, the leathery tall black boots, to even the mess of her hair to show off that psychotic look in her face, just wow!
Really am amazed too looking at my favorite weapon from the game, The Hobby Horse in realistic detail now, very pleasing indeed. The size of mallet was taken well into consideration and even giving it that Bat Out Of Hell look with all the black spikes and the raging touches of red really shows off just as much as it was originally drawn up in the art book.
Likewise a good show on managing the little things to her outfit from the horseshoe necklace, the symbols across the dress to even the dark shades beneath her eyes, marvelous work on this outfit. Too bad to hear about Vorpal Blades not working out but this is just what the Mad Hatter ordered. Bravo Alice, bravo!

The dress is actually from my very first cosplay ever, so I wasn't really concerned with matching the color of the game exactly. I ordered it online somewhere. I did sew on the pockets and add the bloodstains myself, though.
The Hobby Horse was the first big prop I made, and I'm still pretty proud of it. It took me quite a while to make, mostly because I didn't really know what I was doing. I used it later with my Fleshmaiden cosplay as well (which I don't think I ever uploaded a picture of...) In the original costume I had a really cheap plastic "Vorpal" blade, but this is much better.
The dark shades are natural; I think it's probably because I was at such an exhausting con at the time!

For a first cosplay, you did pretty damn good there Zombies and kudos on additional touches you were so bold to add.
That's neat too seeing you made your own Hobby Horse and for the fans of the photo here you might also consider sharing your other cosplay photo, bet its just as awesome as this. If anything else smart idea re-using your old costume for the next one, seen some cosplayers throw out their costumes even with everyone praising it.
Oh sorry to hear that Con was tiring you out that much but again all the more benefit towards your work. With that all said, you did a marvelous job and bet Alice herself would give you a tip of her dress to the hard work and effort you put into making everything look...so......MAD! *grins and applauses*

I didn't have the Hobby Horse originally, actually. For a few years I just carried this cheap plastic "Vorpal" blade. The new game hadn't even come out yet and hardly anyone would recognize me when I wore it, but I was okay with that. Then the new game came out and you saw so many Alices, so I figured I'd make the Hobby Horse to make mine stand out a little more. I haven't worn this costume in a while, but I would never throw it out. It was my first, it's got sentimental value if anything! And who knows, I might wear it again...
