I can see that. I always check dates and such.

Good job on this new one, too.

So Zoomzoom, do you need reference pictures of Cain? I have a ton of them of Cain Stop motion model from Robocop 2 and when are you going to do the Toy Cain?

zoomzoom In reply to coolstuff101 [2013-04-15 16:17:50 +0000 UTC]

I finished making it long time ago. see end result... [link]
had to watch the movie probably more then a 100 times and fill in the blanks on areas that cannot be seen well from my imagination.

... dude ... dude ... I do not know what to say ... That's amazing! The model is extremely detailed, very much. It's good to be able to monitor the movement of body parts, and see how everything is fluid and natural. Overtime, I'm only able to imagine the work you had to do it! Gorgeous!

zoomzoom In reply to Screwmon [2012-09-21 00:14:46 +0000 UTC]

about a 80 hours to model- it was at the beginning of my career. I probably would do it twice faster now.

Screwmon In reply to zoomzoom [2012-09-21 11:05:19 +0000 UTC]

Wow, it was just that I would ask :the time to produce. Awesome! The 80 hours, for me, were already loose. Now, if you can reduce it by half, is more fantastic! Amazing man!

strayspoon42 In reply to zoomzoom [2009-07-26 17:24:07 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i don't think they had a toy for Cain... but i had ED209 AND Robo, and i played with those things till i lost them! oh, how i miss my childhood!

zoomzoom In reply to strayspoon42 [2009-07-26 21:35:02 +0000 UTC]

well. this model was a project for a toy company and they wanted to make this toy. Its been about 5 years since then, and i don't think they actually made any, but if they ever do, its in my contract to get 1/2 scale toy model of actual robot.

well... about 5 years ago, i was in the same position as you. i just came to this site and saw a very good 3D artist.. he was already great at that time, but nowhere near as good as he is now... and his works really inspired me to go into animation instead of digital media and web design... and now some of my own works are as popular as his... so i am glad to be an inspiration to you the same way he was to me and wish you lots of success in the future!

Yeah, I can imagine. I've had experiences with different types of 3D renderers, and I kind of found them pretty hard to use.

i really like the model and the details i think the lighting is a bit too bright though.
cant wait to see it animated. good luck riging it. if i would do it in cinema 4d i would use xpresso to bing the position of the last spline points to the position of the hand. i dont know if maya has something like this. xpresso is very useful for adding nice touches for rigs
