so you just scan your sketch and go over the lines on photoshop? with the pen tool?

Yep, i scan it, play a little with hue and saturation and then i color it whit the brush tool (using a "mutiplied" layer). Here are some color tests I did with this exact picture: [link]

I have trouble drawing women too-this is lovely though-the colours really set her alive too-the high forehead & wisp of fringe is a nice touch too

Maybe it's bad for me to say it, but, for something completly random and based only on a thought, i like how it turned out.
In cases like this, i like to exaggerate some details, the fringe in this case.

I had some bad experiences in the past when drawing women, so some of that "insecurity" remains there.
