lol that slipped my mind on how old ammo can really get before it's shot. Does defense ammo like hollowpoints shoot different from standard rounds? And you know it reminds me of my friend asking me if I had plans to pick up one of those Kimber .22LR kits. My first response was "Hell no." And he was like saying getting one of those would be a cheap way to practice shooting drills with my 1911. I find that idea very flawed. How is it gonna benefit me if I do enough shooting drills with a .22LR kit that my muscle memory thinks the 1911 is supposed kick like a 22? I'd rather train myself around the .45acp and now how to handle it.

Yes defensive rounds are usually more powerful a kick more, they also usually shoot way better than standard ball ammo. You should defiantly practice with your carry ammo.
I would not get a Kimber kit for one reason, you can buy a Nice Ruger 22 pistol for cheaper, and that way you can have another gun!
Any trigger time is good training bro. The basic fundamentals transfer to any gun. I love shooting 50 BMG, but the cost of the ammo is a killer. Your right about training with the caliber and gun you are going to use as a primary defensive weapon. But if you did get a 22 kit, you would sure get use to the feel and the control and trigger of the gun, for a lot less money than shooting 45 all day. I have never see anyone who was a skilled 22 pistol shooter, suck with most other guns. Massive trigger time, is massive training, no matter the caliber or gun. I know a girl that is a competition air gun shooter, and all that trigger time, sure doesnβt hurt her requalls with her 40 cal Kahr. Honestly recoil should not matter, the bullet is already gone by the time you feel recoil, so if your fundamentals are good, you should hit the target every time
Ok I changed my mind I would buy the Kimber kit and the Ruger 22 pistol, but you know how I am! LOL

Well soon as I can get that polishing done, I'll pick me up some hollowpoints and give them a go. Right now I'm just getting whatever ammo is on sale and I'll give'em each a try. So far I've got CCI, PMC and Winchester.
And when you explain it that way about the trigger time training. It makes a lot more sense now. Though I'd still just work on the trigger timing while I'm training with the right caliber. And lol I don't blame you for wanting both.

It just all boils down to money. While I probably shoot way more than most people, and my ammo budget is huge, I still have to consider money. You get a lot of fun and good practice out of 22 guns. I shoot around 500 rounds of 5.56mm a week, and 300 of 308, but that goes fast in semi and auto guns. Some weeks I go through a lot more if I going through a class, or getting ready for a match. While that seems like a lot of ammo, its really just 2 of the many calibers I shoot nearly every day. I honestly have no idea how much 22 ammo I burn through in a week. Its like pennies to me, I just donβt worry about it LOL I do know that I shoot way more 22lr than anything else, and thatβs purely due to cost and the fun factor. Shooting a M16 is fun, but put on a 22 upper and shoot it full auto, now that just about the best time in the world! Loading mags and drums will be the downer to that, but thatβs not a bad trade off. Show me a guy that shoots as much as I do, and I will guarantee he loves 22LR

lol I think full auto 22 is always win. Yeah I'd love to try out one of those Surefire 100 rounders but I don't think I'd want to load it XD

Yeah loading can suck, I forgot my gloves this morning, so my thumbs were sore and black. I did wrap some blue shooters tape around my thumb after awhile. But I am not going to let mag loader thumb stop me from blasting away, and having fun LOL

9mm 30 round mags suck to load T_T Luckily my cousin fashioned a speed loader out of a piece of pvc pipe.

Yeah those can be a pain! Luckily I have been getting my surplus 5.56mm ammo on clips, so thatβs easy to load with the Striplula.

lol I remember the fist time I tried to load a pistol mag. Prior to loading one, the only type of mag I ever loaded was a AR mag. I had no idea you couldn't just push the round in straight from the top like an AR mag. I practically scrapped off the brass and looked like a monkey trying to force it in XD

Yep, I get guys straight out of the military all the time, many of them really never shot a pistol much. There is a learning curve, but they usually get through it fast

Yeah lol thanks to videogames and movies people are under the impression everyone in the Service trains with pistols as much the police. But I'm neither in the rank or job field to rate requesting pistol training.

lol yeah XD Though at least I favor the better detailing in BF3 over COD. When there is better detail it shows me that developers aren't cutting corners and are willing to improve.

I played a few days ago on PC with my brother and a few friends. If you play on PC you can always jump into an empty server and practice flying. Also now that they have opened up Xbox and PS# servers for rent, I see guys that have practice only server running. The key to jets is just forget about the rudder control, until you get the hang of the other stick.

Ah that's right I forgot about rented servers for practice. I usually just go for those 24hr map servers. I'll keep that in mind next time I'm in a jet.

They are Winchester silver tips, so no they are not real silver, besides I keep all my real silver bullets in one caliber, 44 Mag! That way you can combine super stopping power and magical stopping power as well LOL I am kidding of course!

I have a good friend that is a Jeweler, he is also an avid collector and shooter. So we got some molds and made our own silver bullets, mainly for fun, but hey you never know! LOL
