Did you have to swear? You're a Disney character Warp. Sure you're a villain, but not even villains in Disney swear.

He kind of reminds me of Lobo in this style.

Yup, Lobo was one of my sources of inspiration with this.

Nice detail in the work. You did well at picking where to put tones and shadows. Excellent

Frankly, I'm not exactly sure what I've drawn. Maybe my mind's still a teensy bit innocent to see it. XD XD

Thanks!

AWESOME JOB! XD You captured the smug attitude perfectly.

Everything about this picture is excellent. I really like the art style and general atmosphere.
Definitely favoriting that.

Do you do this professionally? You really should write a comic book XD

Thanks!

I've never taken any kinds of art classes outside high school; IRL I have IT engineer's papers and work as a sysadmin. XD I've taken commissions occasionally, but currently drawing/digipainting serves mainly as a hobby.

Sorry about the late response. I was really busy with work... then I was busy working toward preparing and
readying myself for a trip to visit my squibble in Washington... THEN I was in Washington visiting... and the past few days have been drudgery at work and preparing for a whole new semester of college.

Credit is given where credit is due. XD You are REALLY good.

That's really cool. Same here, so far. Spent a LOT of highschool drawing.
All through the day actually, because I daydream way too much. Still a problem of mine.

I was actually planning on going down a similar path... I like art... but I hate having to be told when and what to draw. It takes all the fun out of it. plus, art makes less money, and I am good with computers.
Mostly fixing them... how is being an admin?

zorm In reply to chaoddity [2010-09-21 19:59:28 +0000 UTC]

No prob, I'm dreadfully late with my own answers; had just so much to do during the summer/early autumn that I've sat at my computer only minimally (traveling, performing, etc.). And even now I'm trying to stay out in the forests somewhere, if the weather's not ΓΌber-rainy. It feels like daylight wanes so fast at this time of the year.

Haha, daydreaming is cool. I do that all the time.

Eh, mine's a versatile work; mainly I maintain our office clients and make repairs if necessary, another person handles the servers. I also run the help desk, teach people how to use applications, et cetera, whatever technical help is required on the moment.

Yeah, it's too bad artistic work doesn't really pay. All in all, I enjoy it more as a hobby also; my inspiration tends to bounce so much that it's nicer to be able to choose your own subjects.

Traveling and Performing? I take it you are in a band or something?

That sounds really cool by the way. You camp that often?

I agree.
Saves me from much boredom though I can hardly concentrate sometimes because I tend to do it without noticing. Even gets dangerous at times.

That sounds pretty good to me.
What kinds of applications do they use if you don't mind my asking?

Indeed... Art is tricky...
So few people are willing to pay real money for it (unless they are a foaming-at-the-mouth fan at a convention... OR they are a stickler working for a company that wants some boring advertisement).
Neither of which I would like to do business with. XD

Me too. More creativity, more artistic liberty.
Personally I am working toward making a video game.
Best of both worlds in my opinion. I get to create a full world (THAT I can interact with) in which have absolute creative liberty... and might even get paid

Wow, this is one powerful reboot picture.
And your liking of BLOSC keeps amusing me. 8D In a very good way ^_^

zorm In reply to Zlukaka [2010-06-12 15:12:13 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

^_^ I guess there are several reasons to me liking BLoSC. It's absolutely hilarious, and the animation isn't bad either. Anything that makes me laugh that side-achingly commonly ends up balancing high on my fandom list.

Warp's a cool character, but Zurg's my personal favorite. I've been sketching a fair deal of these characters during the past few weeks, so the next upload will also be BLOSC/Toy Story -related, I'm afraid.

Zlukaka In reply to zorm [2010-06-13 06:43:01 +0000 UTC]

Yes, BLOSC is the funniest sci-fi cartoon I've ever seen, generally one of the best in my opinion. I wish more people knew about it. It's really so awesome 8D

Yeah I love both of these charas. Zurg and Warp. I also love NOS4A2 and I was crazy about Wirewolf, when I was a kid. XD Zurg is so awesome, being the ridiculous pompous evil emperor.

It's great, that you're going to upload more.

Nice. It look's like he just killed someone.

zorm In reply to DarklingDragon [2010-06-12 14:04:33 +0000 UTC]

Well, at least severely wounded. I didn't have a precise storyline for this pic, other than that Zurg is after that one-eyed tentacly bugger and now some space ranger failed to stop Warp.

DarklingDragon In reply to zorm [2010-06-15 05:48:50 +0000 UTC]

I like how you don't actually see who the space ranger is, just his feet.

Just a minor thing: the sheat of his knife on his hip would make it difficult to grab it with his left hand, and, well, the left hand... is not designed, methinks, for grabbing
