yeah.. a bit soft ... but what a heck nice composition.... don't worry zeiss are making now lenses for nikons... so, eventually your nikon will become like a leica...

yeah, leica m6 with a 35/2. nice combo.

you are shooting a rolleiflex - right?

yeah and a hassy ... speaking of Rollei... thanks god the manual stuff... I have dipped it in the ocean an other day... but it's working like a champ

is the one with the planar? because id love to have a rolleiflex... but then again, id rather get some glass for the leica before getting one. great to see people shooting that camera.

tomasito68 In reply to zort [2006-08-26 18:41:32 +0000 UTC]

no, it's a Tessar 3.5 it's about 52 years old... and I love it.. look into the 75/1.4 lens for the leica... very impressive piece of glass... I use it sometimes myself as well.. although, my favored is the 35/1.4 astonishing quality... but anyhow, have fun with your gear

zort In reply to tomasito68 [2006-08-26 18:42:49 +0000 UTC]

what glass do you have got for your leica so far? heh, 35/1,4 - nice, tho i think that the 35 cron is really really amazing for that size.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

tomasito68 In reply to zort [2006-08-26 18:45:03 +0000 UTC]

35/1.4-50/1.4-75/1.4-90/2 but I'm thinking I'll selling the 90 don't use it lately....

zort In reply to tomasito68 [2006-08-26 18:50:45 +0000 UTC]

are they asph or pre-asph? hows the 75? do you shoot them professionally or for your private shots?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

tomasito68 In reply to zort [2006-08-26 19:15:32 +0000 UTC]

they're all aspherical except the 75/1.4 ... however, as far as I know they do make 75/2 aspherical... in my opinion.. two leses good to have 35 and the 75 and that's it... or if you do hardcore photojournalism than maybe the 28/2 ...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zort In reply to tomasito68 [2006-08-26 19:18:07 +0000 UTC]

do you see a lot of difference between the asph and non-asph? ive read the article about the 75/2 in the leica magazine and yeah... lets state it like that: id love to shoot that lense. id love to.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

tomasito68 In reply to zort [2006-08-26 19:24:09 +0000 UTC]

visually in the long lenses you don't see the difference... on the 35 you do especially if you do projection of your slides... by the way, have you shot kodachrome film with the leica yet? it's screams and begging you at same time to shot more of it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zort In reply to tomasito68 [2006-08-26 19:31:36 +0000 UTC]

havent shot any slides so far, mainly because i lack of a projector and have a hard time scanning slides. i just prefer bw and sometimes c41... well, maybe eventually i get a 35/1,4 asph then.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

tomasito68 In reply to zort [2006-08-26 19:41:45 +0000 UTC]

what kind a scanner do you use? usually scanners do like positive imegas.. I have one of the Nikon's Coolscan and it's screams for positive film I think the 35/2 as equally good as the 35/1.4 just 1 stop slower... good luck now I have to go to develop some more b&w film...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zort In reply to tomasito68 [2006-08-26 19:46:48 +0000 UTC]

im also using a nikon coolscan - the nikon coolscan v ed to be precise. great scanner but i think the slides are always a bit off. especially with fuji, the kodaks are better. what soup are you using for your bw stuff? anyways, enjoy developing.

I use d-76... since I can reuse it for a 6 months of a period... I also use ilford ilfotec dd-x and ilford microphen but these are oneshot developers... thanks I just bought a shitload of Agfa 400 b&w films... I love those films

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zort In reply to tomasito68 [2006-08-26 19:56:40 +0000 UTC]

you reuse d76? do you add like 10% of the time or do you mean you can store it for 6 months? dd-x can be used several times as far as i remember... but then again, i stick to xtol.

interesting - i never had pleasing results with apx400. developed it with xtol, d76 and rodinal, always with the recommened settings but i got horrible grain and messy contrast. no good. perhaps, its different with 120 film... just tried 135.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

tomasito68 In reply to zort [2006-08-26 20:05:53 +0000 UTC]

I always reuse d76 proxi after 3 months I add 25% more development time... ususally I use it for 6 months then changed for a new stock.... I don't use replenisher... don't like those so much.. although, sometimes add some photo grade sodium sulfite to achieve finer grain and boost some shadow detail...

haha, nice, so you actually get 3,6 l stock and use that for 6 months... do you experience any loss in quality? never. what do you think about kodak xtol?
