Description
Now some of you may be already aware of my poking fun of the the "Optimus Resurrection" and "Megatron=Galvatron" cliches from the Transformers (as seen here fav.me/d62bkwz and fav.me/d75w7us) but I'm just bringing up something that is rarely seen throughout the decades of the Transformers: Starscream being a ghost/immortal.
This refers back to when Starscream is supposedly killed by Galvatron in the 1986 Transformers: The Movie (which saw the longest time he was the Decepticon leader; being twenty seconds ) in either season 3 or 4 (which takes place after the movie) Starscream comes back as a ghost with the ability to possess and control other Transformers. This was eventually explained in the sequel series 'Beast Wars' which explained that Starscream had a mutated spark; referred to as a "seemingly indestructible spark" (Beast Wars, Bad Spark). Starscream has been the first - and so far only - Transformer that has displayed this trait. As much I as complained about the "Optimus Resurrection" and "Megatron=Galvatron" cliches, the idea of Starscream's mutated spark has potential to be used again because we only saw this idea used in only one continuity and plus it represents that even being supposedly killed, Starscream is extremely persistent. So it's fresh and represents a fundamental part of Starscream's character.
Maybe we will get to see this one day in a future series.
