Description This was part of my "Concentration" for AP Art my senior year of high school. It is my favorite painting, done with watercolors and a little acrylic. My concentration was my representation of my experience in China, when I went there for 5 weeks in the summer of 2005. This little boy is deaf, and he signed "I love you" to us. Ironically, that is one of the only signs that is the same in both Chinese sign language and American sign language.

Great colouring! Was he not wearing a hearing aid/s, and if you did, would you cover it/them with your hair, and why?

thanks! and no he wasn't wearing a hearing aid, they didn't have them. they don't really provide much for the disabled where we were.

That's the trouble with some places world-wide, isn't it? Maybe when he gets older, things may change. Oh, you did not answer my question about what you would do if you had to wear hearing aids!

for his sake yes i hope so. Sorry, I totally missed that part, lol, no i don't think so, I don't see why I would. And i usually have my hair up anyways so i wouldn't change that for hearing aids. I wouldn't find it embarrassing if that's what you're asking, it's like wearing glasses. The only reason why I don't like glasses is because they're not practical, which is why I wear contacts.

I have worn glasses since I was 5 - about 40 years ago! - and each time I see my optician, I ask her if there is a chance I could wear contacts with my eyesight... but nothing doing so far!

Wow, that stinks, I'm sorry about that. what about laser eye surgery? My brother couldn't wear contacts but he got the surgery done and has 20/20 vision now.

I'm happy wearing glasses right now; it (laser eye surgery) is not something I envisage doing, to be honest.

Me neither, I'm going to wait until my eyes get REALLY bad before I risk THAT particular process...
