Description This is a composition of different police vehicles and minifigs, the car, motorcycle and helicopter come from the '83 police station set, the van is taken from a set of the same period (the newer one has blue seats and blue front ladder, doesn't match quite well the look and feel of police station )

The bike is a quite complex model if compared to usual lego bricks

Modeled in pro/Engineer, rendered with Alias Imagestudio

What role does the van serve?

prisoner transport, perhaps?

I think so, it was possible to open it and place minifigs inside, although it's difficult to imagine an "evil" minifig with the usual smiling face

I have ideas for a "Then and Now" verion of this pic.

The vehicles to be used are: 3648, 7286, 7741 and a custom 7235...

Xmas 1983, Poland. I was 3 and that little police car in the back was my very first LEGO toy. I still have the original box it came in somewhere at my parents house. Wow, so many memories. I had the civilian motorcycle without the glass windscreen. But one of the handles broke. I used to make side cars for it all the time.

I still have one of these somewhere, I used it to better understand how to model it. It's yellow, I think it was from the postman mini box... and I agree it was soo great

legoman scale is complicated cars are often too small to fit one complete legoman so you have to just stick a torso in there

That's quite true: most of the earliest LEGO "town" cars had no roof at all, and the ones with roofs probably accepted "bald" minifigs only From about '85 they started to elevate a little the windscreen and doors level so that minifigs could actually fit inside with hats and hairs The 4x5 car base, mainly used for vans and similar, is the best to use to solve this problem

I think it's really cool! I used to love Lego when I was younger. The image is very photo realistic, you've done a great job with this one.

Thank you! I know the setting is quite dull, but as I said, this sets will have a much better placement in a future scene I'm currently planning, I just need some buildings to place around...
