something within me mourns with her, for lost moments, death that hasn't come or is long past. maybe fresh pain, unknown to me. she must lead or have lead a harsh life, and have a beautiful smile.

This is such a powerful image - this woman tugged at my heartstrings even in the thumbnail. I wish I knew what the source of her pain is, but I think part of the intensity of this picture is the raw emotion without context. Congratulations on your DD, it was well-earned.

This reminds me of a photo shown in a social studies class. It was seemingly a sad and anguished photo, but in truth was a moment of happiness. That's what I like about this picture. It's fascinating to wonder and speculate.
