This is such a beautiful print. The perspective is a great touch. There's so many things going on here that I can't even begin to go into it all. Great work. I can't take my eyes from it.

Nice work. Did you expose a drawing for the black line? How big is it?

thank you I had a line drawing i used to make all the seperations, i made the black seperation seperate from that line drawing as there were areas of black in it that were not black on the print. The piece is about 17x15, ive only got 3 prints left from the intal run of 20 and im not sure where i've put them.

This is a really cool picture- your style is quite unique. The shading looks great, and I like the representation of each primary color, plus the accents of other colors in each room. The dark window in the middle just seems to put this all together. Great use of perspective, too. I can't find anything to critique here, so nice work!

I have to agree with your teacher because it reminded me of the simpsons the moment I saw it. It's a great print!

I love this. Bright, bold colours with those not too smooth not too rough lines gives such a great feel to this. The bright red room reminds me of one of Matisse's paintings

What a bizarre piece - it works really well! The colours remind me of something, but I'm not quite sure what - I like the fish-eye effect too. Do you mean this was taken from photographs?

i used photos for reference but all the pics i found are pretty crap so they just gave me a starting point [heres one of the images [link] and i already knew i wanted it to be very "cartoony" for want of a better word, the whole situtation with Dahmer and what they found in his apartment is just sureal anyway and i wanted to try and capture some of that with the overly bright colours and style [my teacher thought it looked like a simpsons layout lol]

concept and view is nice. you are right on the pasting job. take advantage of the transform commands to make things easier and of the adjustments menu. helps when blending colors of similar, but different tones.

Very cool colors! The living room looks curved, though... But maybe that was on purpose...

thanks for the comment and yes the curve is on purpose, the perspective is wrapped.

Oh, I just love the way the colors go on this one. It seems so homey yet ecstatic at the same time! The coloring is amazing in this work, and like everyone else said, it is the best part of the picture.

its pretty creepy, he did indeed have a certain macabre taste even in the disposition of the appartment

OMG this was a silkscreen??? Damn how many colors did you use? This is amazing. The vividness, the composition, everything . . rather eerie it's from Dahmer's apartment.

it was a total of 12 seperations to get all the colours. I'm sure i could have done it with less colours but i just felt like trying to do something that had alot of different sections to it. All 12 colours show up in each of the three rooms but each room has its own kinda colour signature. Kitchen is yellow, sitting room red and the bathroom green. The piece is roughly about 11x14.

Wow! This is a bit different than I'm used to seeing from you! Lovely print-work, I like the slightly offset feel you get in a number of places.

As for scanning -- toy around with the adjustment layers in Photoshop, namely levels to match up colors when scanning in things in multiple parts. I generally even the different layers doing this, and then adding a layer mask under "reveal all" and have at it with a fairly large feathery brush where nessescary to blend it all together. Takes a little fooling with and getting used to, but it'll get a good seamless effect.

And a lot cheaper than a bigger scanner, no matter how appealing that notion is.

hey Dani,

thanks for the comment and i know that i could have put the different sections together alot better but i balame pure lazyness on my part. I really just wanted to play with new powerbook and tablet, lol. The cost of large format scanners has actually dropped quite a bit in recent months, you can get a pretty decent A3 one for under $200 [which is still alot but considering the rest are $1000+]
