Description

So for one of my storylines I wanted to have a an animal species which would be able to absorb and use 'magic' (in that particular story it plays a huge part as an energy source) and I wanted it too look as innocent and plain as possible. Insert this little thing. It's just a draft, so tell me if you like the idea and what should I improve.

Also some notes:

- It's barely bigger than a rat.

- There are many subspecies that adapted to particular sourrounding. The one above is the most common subspecies who transorms gathered energy into heat and in danger is able to release it in form of flames.

- This thing needs to eat A LOT, similarly to a shrew, but other than eating all the time it devoures something particulary huge once in a while. It's known to attack literally everything from birds, deers, cows to other carnivores like wolves or foxes and rarely humans. It has a really strong bite and is known to go in completely savage state when particulary hungry.

- They live in small groups or travel on their own. Not particulary territorial although the groups can sometimes be hostile towards each other.

- Magic sustains them and helps to keep their body functioning. If not able to drain it from sourroundings they switch to 'energy-starved' mode where they search for any sings of living creatures to literally suck the life energy out of them.

- The second pair of eyes enables them to localize the places of energy condenstion and other life forms. Those can also see ghosts and spirits traveling in the 'void'.

Yeah I throw a lot of strange terms around. I may expand on it later as I will write more about the story it all revolves around. Anyway, hope you like it!
