This is what happens when an Avatar fan is also a kpop/kdrama fan. ^___^
It's been nearly half a year since my KpopKdrama crossover as Legend of Korra characters and I've been dying to do the AtLA series.
For this series, the characters will be released in order of their appearance in the show (except for zuko, he's my bias and will be reserved for the end).
Second to last of the AtLA set of portaits!!! MR. EVIL FIRE LORD OZAI! As played by Lee Byung Hun. (Notable in "I.R.I.S.", "GI Joe", "Masquerade")
oh man ozai. i can't believe i combined two reference photos of Lee Byung Hun facing in different angles in order to make the perfect Ozai expression. Not only that but also finding endless reference on how his goat-tee grows and the direction of his hair queue being pulled up because of the strange angle. I even ended up making up half the stuff I drew because the reference pix didn't have that. And surprisingly, he still looks like Lee Byung Hun. What I did notice was that Lee Byung Hun's eyes are similar to mine. They're not perfectly lined up (take a look at the reference pix). Sometimes I think his eyes are going in two different directions. Maybe thats what helps make Lee Byung Hun charming?
Originally i wanted Kim Jongkook to be Ozai because he and Ozai were HELLA muscular and crazy-ass leaders. But Kim Jongkook was more of a sweetheart with a bad temper than a bad guy (according to what i've seen in RunningMan with a few episode exceptions). OK, Kim Jongkook can be a bad guy BUT NOT a ruthless merciless villain. Now why Lee Byung Hun? After watching his performance in Masquerade and the GI Joe movies, he could do it. He had the sneaky pure evil look that Ozai glowed with.
side note: OMFG the improvement since Katara's portrait is scary awesome. thank you school!

I know it had potential, and thats why it sucks that it was so bad. Ok, so Jet Li is bad ass in it (he is in every movie he does I think). And replacing the actress for Evie. And it just didn't feel like the first two.

I have to agree, my favorite parts are when its those two together. And when Jet Li is the monkey king.
My favorite rolls of his are in Hero, Unleashed, and War.

Those movies are good. Unleashed had great acting, but also showed Jet Li being sensitive. War is a great cop movie two with a twist ending. Hero is just beautiful.

You should. I know Jet Li is in the Expendables movies, but I'm not big into them. They work if you like lots of action and action stars. I also haven't seen Fearless or One yet, so again can't give my opinion.

Yeah, he is good. I know there is one movie he's done (having seen it) but where he is the father of an adult with Autisum, but he (jet li) has terminal cancer. Don't remember the name though.

Your Ozai scares me. And that's a good thing. Excellent casting and portrayal. Not that I know who any of these actors are, but I have no problem believing you when you say they'd be perfect in their respective roles.

i absolutely agree. i think its because i changed brushes. i usually use a texture one but i guess this past semester at school, i stopped using it because i didn't have the effect i needed for my in-class drawings. so out of habit, i ended up with the basic round brush and i like it very much.
only one more left! and you know who that is! man because of this high quality, i feel like i should redo the old ones but thats gonna take a long time.
