The other day, I came across the trailer for Mufasa, which put me in a nostalgic mood for The Lion King. It has been more than a decade since I last drew something related to this fandom, but I decided to give it a try and see how my style would blend with the TLK style. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the results!

However, I have to admit that after watching the Mufasa trailer, I don't have very high expectations for the movie. But who knows? It may surprise me and turn out to be better than I initially thought.

Anyway, I felt inspired to create a drawing of Mufasa and his family. From left to right, you can see my personal interpretations of Mufasa's parents, Ahadi and Uru, Mufasa himself, and his brother Scar, formerly known as Takasa, in my version of the story.

I noticed the vast majority of artists in the fandom tend to depict Ahadi as having a more golden appearance, while Uru is portrayed with a more red palette, similar to Scar's colouring. However, I decided to take a different route in interpreting these characters. Although I appreciate the conventional designs, I wanted to create my unique take on the characters and am pleased with the results. Uru's design was the most challenging for me, and I went through various iterations before I ended up with the final version, which slightly differed from what I shared on my Instagram page. The final version here for Uru is my favourite among all the different colour combinations I tried for her.

Scar's design mainly remained the same, with only a minor adjustment to his palette. For Mufasa, I changed his colouring and incorporated some of his father's traits into his mane. However, in my headcanon, Mufasa looks more like his paternal grandfather, Mohatu, rather than like his parents, Ahadi and Uru.

I plan to create some references with more information on each of these dorks later. However, before that, I need to finalize my ideas. I recently watched a summary of The Lion Guard, and I found Scar's backstory in it to be ridiculous. So, I want to create my take on the brothers' past and explore Ahadi and Uru's backstory.
