Life springs up from the cold earthThrusting their bodies into the air
Partaking of the sunlight and freshness
They are born, alive after so long
Of being dead and buried
Warmth comes on the winds
And the new life thrives
Sunlight greets them every morning
And weeps when it leaves at light
They grow larger, and it is time.
Opening themselves, swaying with the wind
Females grow heavy, drooping unil
A cold wind comes, and they explode
Releasing their young into the air
Weeping with sadness, they know
Their time is short
Saying their last farewells
Slowly they wither and turn brown
Snow falls, their death shroud
Until Spring again, they are dead
