I finally got a copy of Okami of my own and I've been hooked. This was fun, only next time I might make Amaterasu's shoulder poofies a bit smaller. And I think this image needs a few hundred thousand more things going on in the background. ;3Okami Amaterasu is © Capcom

I know this is like umm years after this was posted. I had been given a copy as well awhile back. While browsing my collection, I figured what the heck I'll pick it up and play it.
I have to say this game was extremely well made and the story just left you the player in awe.

Lovely image of Ammy, and the colours are GORGEOUS. Sorry to say this, but I'm so biased, so I can't offer any sort of constructive comment for this, I just love the game too much. Very very nicely done!

Glad you're a fan of it too! I hear they aren't doing a sequel though due to lack of more mythology to use that's along the same line as the last. :{ But Okami is so replayable it almost makes up for it.

Also, I must be tired and lifeless at the moment. When I saw the title, I thought, "Damn, it's a wipe."

You have such a unique style of coloring! For starters, the background is nice, the grass/petals reflect well with the light. The fur/tattooing is spot on, and I'm just loving that pose.

The energy of this is amazing : D I love his intense gaze and powerful pose. The shading and colours you chose are wonderful, too :> The only crit I have is that the composition is a bit weak and the background looks like a bit of an afterthought. I think you've really captured the spirit of Okami, though, which is what matters - so great job!

The title on this piece reminds me of WoW, for (and maybe not so) apparent reasons XD
(Paladin ability in WoW was named "Divine Intervention"..)
And it makes me kinda sad that I've never played Okami : <

Nice work-heart that game so much.
Quick critique cos it's Okami/a wolf: The lighting in this is a bit confusing. It looks like with the background getting darker fading out that the fire on the back is the main light source, but there's also some from the left side, according to the front legs-so the left side of the face shouldn't have the shading on there. Is there also a front light source? The forehead/muzzle is entirely lit to suggest so. Taken as a whole, it looks as if the light source is coming from the front left, with the additional fire-but then there's still the shading on the face, and there could be a little more light on the back right (her right) leg to emphasise this, especially with light on the opposite leg but not this one. The back left leg-light from the fire would be thrown out over this, especially as it's extended/splayed slightly, so there would possibly be little shading at all there save for the upper inside.
Anatomy-the face and muzzle is too long and narrow for a wolf, along with the ears, which should be wider at the base. The eyes seem to be slightly too slanted as well. Shorten the muzzle and widen the ears, and it would be more accurate. See here, where the wolf is also leant down like your drawing: [link] The nose shape should be more rounded at the top, rather than the heart shape, but the rest of it is fine.
And a fantard critique-where's the ink on her tail?
