This is taking place at least before Ace joins the White Beard Pirates and Is still the captain of the Ace Pirates.

When they docked at a Kano Country town, while Ace went off to eat and sleep, Kilik approached the ship searching for a way to go to the new world to find Ostrheinsburg. He argued with a ship pirate, who wanted his Dvapara-Yuga as a fee for the trip until Garren stepped in. Garren sympathized with Kilik and let him stay until Maxi, the captain, returned.

But when Ace returned, he found his ship under attack by a hoard of golems and lizard-like creatures led by Astaroth. With Kilik, both joined forces in the battle against the monsters. Eventually, they had repelled the golems, but not before Astaroth had temporarily snatched the holy mirror Dvapara-Yuga from Kilik, causing him to lose his sanity and savagely attack Ace. Fire Fist Ace was able to suppress Kilik and return the Dvapara-Yuga to him, however, their battle ended up destroying the port. mostly from the attack, Ace used to destroy a Marine Armada to defeat Kilik only because of his anger over his craw and Astaroth getting away, granted Ace was surprised that Kilik survived leaving him with a tan and his pants. This incident resulted in Ace receiving a bit more in his bounty and Kilik would receive a bounty himself depicting him in his berserk form. When Kilik woke up Ace heard his story and with his crew being wounded in the attack decided to join Kilik on his journey to Ostrheinsburg wanting payback on Astaroth. Afterward, the two met Xianghua, a member of the Kano Country Imperial Guard, who was originally sent to capture them but after understanding the situation she decided to aid them in their travels.

the 3 stormed Ostrheinsburg Castle, where the creatures that attacked Ace's crew were waiting for them. After defeating the creatures, Astaroth presented himself and blocked the entrance to the castle. Ace had Kilik and Xianghua run past Astaroth, while Ace stayed behind to fight him and succeeded in killing Astaroth. Ace would then join Kilik and Xianghua in their battle against Inferno. With Xianghua's Sword, Kilik's control power, and Ace's fire, the 3 were Able to give Inferno his second defeat.

After the battle, Ace asks His two new friends to join his crew but sadly they decline even though they are tempted they each have their responsibilities. The three unlikely friends left separately on their journeys Kilik and Xianghua did not see Ace in person until 2 years later When they tried to stop its execution.
