Writing sci fi action is so bloody complicated, maybe this is where i always fall down with scifi, futuristic description and action. ALAS! i shall be putting up some sci fi for you to digest at some point, hopefully this week.

you find writing action to be complicated? i dunno, its as complicated as you make it. i have seen some RIDICULOUS sci fi descriptions as part of a story and i have to dissect each paragraph to understand the whole. that is not a good time man! it turned me off big time. so i say, say what NEEDS to be said to keep the flow and keep the reader in the loop of understanding then keep it moving. to much, hurts the brain.

action as a whole... no, action in sci fi yes because my imagination runs off to a world with the most intense machinery known to the universe, which in turn becomes hard to write because there is nothing in the real world that you can compare it with. However, this time around i tried to keep things based on technology now... the firefly universe has helped since the weapons are pretty much the same (minus the stun gun they use) The vehicles minus space flight are the same just more advanced (cept they removed the wheels from everything) which gives me a descriptive starting point. For instance, spaceships are based on planes mostly, hence i can play ace combat and watch plane stunts and movies on you tube to see exactly how these things move. E.g in the story theres a ship that pulls into a barrel roll, studying a few vids and some text seeing that the flaps on the rear of the plane wing extend to divert the resistance enabling the plane body to roll. I use this in the story but not in that descriptive manner lol. But the roll is quite slow until its half way round so i added some thrusters to the ships design on the lower hull of the ship and these are used to induce a quicker roll. All in all its a sharp left barrel roll, but putting sharp left barrel roll was lame due to the sitation that caused the barrel roll.
I think im coming to the end of the first part im writing, i guess it runs like a movie more then a story, at least i think it does. I tried to keep insane descriptions out. Im trying to write a good sci fi here, its the genre that always kicks me in the ass and quite frankly im sick of it doing that lol. It'll be nice to get a firm grip on sci fi tho.

i understand, but i said it before, you gotta know when to cut off the description and perhaps its trial and error. i know when too much is happening cuz i read other people work. you read your own and you wont get a good gauge cuz you think your own sit is either spot on or off..when it could be just right. so other works help a lot.

plus i really want dex to finish the last one before i post, but i will see if he is finished when im finished. if not, then he will be finished within the week and i will post another one. but i do like to do these things in threes. so trust me man..extremely soon. the hardest part is always the synopsis because i dont want to make them too long or too short. i have to make sure they say what they need to say in the limited amount of space.

yes and no, when you have a lot to say, you have to pick and choose what goes in and thats not easy. less is more in these cases, so what do you do with the stuff you trimmed off?!?! i hate wasting words, but throwing way good wording sucks too! but i write and save alternates of many synopsis for future reference.
but it is no cake walk by any means. you forget, that even though i know the general outline, i write everything on the fly. ad-lib 90 percent. every data file or the like has been written after dex gave it to me. i know what the characters do, and who they are and where they fit, but there were no synopsis for any of them cuz they didnt need them at the time.
so it was challenging... wording them correctly and interesting...which is really important. on dex page, the profiles get more views, 2 people said "i dont know what these are, but i am interested"
thats what its all about for me.
in this deviant world, if you do famous characters you get many more hits. i mean MANY more. when it comes to my characters the number is lower by a big margin. we talking 200 compared to 500 or more for a batman sketch . all this is learned by looking at dexes page. so these people really need some originality in their blood man. they need to let it in..

Guess people do get more hits for famous sketchs, but how many times can u see batman, u look it and its like... another batman eh, unless its strikingly unique in terms of art or design it doesnt really become interesting.

all this old character worship really keeps imaginations stagnating for artists. i dont know how they do it., they go through all the work learning their craft and then they want to do comic books where they have to draw spiderman the best to even get hired. then its congrats!! now you get to draw HIM all the time!
plus you are not allowed to draw new villains..draw what WE tell you too!
its fuckin nuts to me, but not to all of these artist on here. if it were me, i would be independent all the fucking way.
