The idea, I suppose, is that we want to provide something entertaining to the public

Nope... if you look in the requirements I set out in the stash, I ask that you have at least 100 comics/animations before you can make a request

That way everyone get entertained for far longer, and you can stay up on the stash entry indefinitely

Why, thank you very much for your kind words.  
Traditional artists are definitely out there, but I also have a hard time finding them among the overwhelming amount of digital art.
I'm not afraid of the traditional ways getting lost but it would be nice to see more appreciation for the many choices of art mediums that exist.
