Well, I never show anyone in real life my DA account and my parents have been pretty strict with me with what I put on my social media. They don't want me showing anything violent or containing adult humor in worry that it'll hurt my job reputation and who knows what'll happen if they see my DA stuff, most of it being obsessed with video games (mostly FP). It's to the point where I thought of changing my name and starting a new account that features my original content only. I know that some people enjoy my early works, but my job is on the line here.

That wouldn't be a bad idea, it's kinda what I did in divorcing myself from my old account and past works for the sake of a better future. As strict as your parents might be, they have a reason for keeping an eye on these things and if you got a job, it's even more important to manage your reputation. After all, a company would be tarnished if they had an unsavory employee and these days, with people being so hypersensitive to things, companies can't afford to take risks. It might be time to reinvent yourself here.

Maybe.  I already went through my gallery and put my more cringe-worthy stuff into storage.  I think if I play it safe, things will remain the way they are and I won't have to worry about my job.

I wonder what would count as "cringe-worthy" in this case, but yeah. Definitely play it safe. You can still draw anyway, just gotta be more careful in what you post online from now on.

Yeah, although I have become more mature since joining this site.  I probably won't be as ranty as I used to be and I think the mature tag is pretty obvious to most people.  Besides, as long as people don't know that I own a page, I should be fine.  My biggest fear is people googling my username, since Google Images likes to show all of my work, even the mature ones (except for the stash, thank goodness) and the art associated with it.  For some reason, I attract a lot of weirdos and that might get me in hot water, but what can you do?  It's the internet and people will do dumb things.

Yeah, you never know what kinds of people will run into your work. There's only so much you can do about it, but to let them stop you from working altogether would be worse. Just be careful what you say to people and you should be fine. Your work is more important than the strangers trying to bother you.

Close enough, thanks for asking. I'd gotten busy with school recently and finished for the moment. I'm still piecing things together and rebuilding on my end, so it's a relief that there's one less thing to worry about for the moment.

That's good to hear. I haven't heard from Ananini in a while. She said she was busy with school and couldn't do much on DA. I sent her a few comments on her page, but she hasn't replied to them. I hope I didn't do anything to upset her ( maybe I'm worried over nothing).

I don't think she's upset. She's a pretty young artist, I'm sure school comes first for her and with summer break coming up, she might catch up soon. Besides, when she uploads she tends to do it by the truckload, so she could also be stocking up pictures for the next haul.

Sorry to put you through that. A big part of why I deactivated the account was to commit to a change from a life where, despite such comments, I wasn't happy with where I was going. It doesn't mean your old art doesn't matter or anything, more like I have to do better than I used to.
